Providing a break from label life, Girls is a new creative outlet generating music that makes tribute to a lifetime of collecting disco and techno records. Enriched by the glowing voice of Seglilola Jolaosho, ‘When U Go’ glitters, demonstrating Kerridge’s ear for combining exquisite harmonies and deep-reaching beats. Italian producer and Afro House A&R for Traxsource, MoBlack delivers a juicy remix and dub, fleshing out the percussion, adding hypnotic synths and introducing a playfully layered acoustic vibe.

A 22-year-old artist based in Paris, Bwi-Bwi began his production career when he was fifteen and is already making waves across Europe with his super-fresh deconstructed style of house. Since 2012, as part of duo M&C, he has a regular slot on Rinse FR, has released solo projects on the likes of Kitsuné and is now an affiliate of Lüüd Discs where this track was originally released on vinyl. His production on ‘Insight’ is well considered and intelligent. Every chord fits neatly into place and a purveying melody gives the track a familiar warmth that feels like coming home.

Exploited boss Shir Khan’s ever-dependable Secret Gold series returns for its eleventh edition, with two very tasty tracks that will appeal to a wide range of discerning diggers.

French genius The Mekanism kicks off with ‘Beach House’, a gentle summer jam that’s a world away from some of his more pumping material. Lilting acoustic guitar licks waft over thumping kicks and snappy percussion before funk-fuelled live bass and salsa-flavoured piano solos descend. The break drafts in touches of Afro-Latin percussion and hazy vocal snippets to complete a delightful soundtrack for a stroll across the sand. Come on in, the water’s lovely!

Bas Roos continues his excellent form for the label with a collaboration alongside Guy Steve. With a similar flavour to ‘Beach House’, their delicious ‘Route 69’ pares disco funk guitars with looping organic bass and jazzy electric piano noodling. Carefully deployed filters break up the rolling groove just when needed. An early evening dancefloor groove with impeccable taste.
