THNTS stands for Thanatos. In Greek mythology, Thanatos was the daemon personification of death. In classical Freudian psychoanalytic theory, Thanatos represents the death drive (German: Todestrieb); the drive towards death, self destruction and the return to the inorganic. Death aka thanatos is the end of physical life and the beginning of the eternity of our souls. Thanatos is immortal and so is TECHNO. Thanatos is the freedom of your soul and nothing else can showcase this feeling better than TECHNO. We present you the big man behind Berlin’s magnificently infamous, Apathy events  and without doubt one of Berlin's purest techno figures, THNTS, on our new radio show episode!

There are few DJs and producers in the modern techno world who can truly claim to have pioneered a style and sound, and call it their own. Such statements are often declared, but rarely justified. In the case of Ben Long and Jamie Bissmire, the names behind the legendary Space DJz this claim would be unarguable. Ever since the pair's formation in the early 1900's their unerring ability to fuse raucous techno with their life long love of Hip Hop, has set them aside from there peers. In the present day, an abundance of UK techno producer's have emerged, none would deny The Space Djz are true innovators. In 1995 the duo released their debut Ep Space DJz on the legendary and now defunked Infonet imprint, quickly followed up by an outing on the Belgium label Reload. These two projects put them on the techno map but the real turning point arrived in early 1996 on Infonet with the release of the ''Return to Earth EP'', containing the techno anthems ''Side ON' and ''Rock the House''. Both tracks would blow up to be huge and be re-released via Frankfurt based Ongaku .The combined output of both releases was over 10,000 copies and along side Dave Clarke's ''Red 1''. these were two of the biggest tunes of the era and are still much sought after and played to this day. The Space DJz became prize catches for the major players Nova Mute and Soma contributing several more classic releases, culminating in 1999's critically acclaimed album ''On Patrol''. The album expressed Ben and Jamie's roots perfectly, combining their now infamous hip hop influences with their unique brand of analog techno and chaotic electronic soundscapes. It's 2015 already and Space DJz after 20 years are still here, stronger than ever. Immortal and eternal as the space itself, the industry's greatest duo delivered to our Advanced imprint their new extraterrestrial longplayer ''Hidden Systems'' including 8 out-of-this-world techno gems, and there is no better way to celebrate it than with an 1-hour exclusive mix for our Advanced radioshow. AHAU grew up in the south of Chile very close to the Andean rain forest, which always helped him to appreciate the importance of nature and love its sounds. When he got older, he discovered that these could coexist with electronic music, creating a sub-genre that unifies what he liked most about music and dance with what he loved the most on the planet: its nature and its roots.    
 
So one day he got tired of just dancing and listening and he dared to collect his favorite music and then mix it as a DJ. Luckily his relationship with music became much more serious than just listening to it, mixing it up and dancing it, so he began to feel that it also wanted to express itself through him. So he started studying alone and working hard. After much effort he acquired the first skills that allowed him to express everything he had inside.
