About a week before Advent performed at the MARPROG festival in 2009, we decided to try adding "Oglethorpe's Dream" (a miniature Alan had just composed for Stick and harpejji) to our set list. Alan brought his Stick to Ben's place and they ran through the piece for the very first time together. This was one of the best passes from that brief session, captured informally on a Zoom H2. While somewhat imperfect, this recording still provides a reasonably good indication of how the arrangement was meant to sound. We hope you enjoy it!

ADVENT - To Dunsinane

The raw results (in a cappella form with each section strung together) of a long day's worth of choir recording on September 14, 2014, for "Romanitas," the closing track on Advent's "Silent Sentinel" album. A huge thank-you to all the wonderful friends and family that joined in to make this such a fun day and one that produced such beautiful results.

ADVENT - GK Contramundum/Awaiting the Call ...

Given the rumor that Derek Shulman might put in an appearance at the very first GORGG, held at the (now-closed) Heartland Brewery location near Radio City Music Hall in NYC on October 9, 1999, Advent prepared the first verse of "On Reflection" to sing with him. Since Derek didn't end up showing up, we spoke with Geir Hasnes, who kindly pulled the score out of his backpack and offered to sing Derek's part with us. The four of us went outside and sang this on the street (right by the entrance to the Heartland) and Frank Lauria was kind enough to capture our performance on his portable recorder.

ADVENT - Alison Waits (A Ghost Story)

A piece that Alan originally composed for Stick and harpejji (the first composition/arrangement ever completed for that particular pair of instruments to the best of our knowledge). It was actually the first tune completed for Advent's third CD, however Ben's departure resulted in the loss of harpejji--and, as such, the piece has been put on the shelf for the time being. In the interim, we hope that you enjoy this solo demo version with Alan playing both Stick and Clavinet (the latter in place of harpejji).
