Met a lesbian at a singles “night out” last Friday evening. I spotted her across a room of forty women, ladies who out numbered the men three to one. She was gorgeous and I wondered why the men had already squared off with other women, having left this one unconquered. 

Our eyes locked and conversation ensued. But the only reason conversation took place was; she thought I was gay, and like her, would be left like a shag on a rock on a night like this. She just wanted to chat and didn’t exactly lead me on - she was just under the assumption that “she knew, and I knew”. 

But I didn’t know. And I pursued this lady for hours and days afterwards. She was friendly, and funny, and a great conversationalist. 

On occasion, she did drop hints that women were her thing, but by then I was hooked. What a glamour. What a gorgeous lady who just happened to be at a singles night out supporting a friend (I finally found out). Who was bisexual. A bisexual friend who liked a little of the action over the fence, where both sides are always greener.

Obviously, it wasn’t to last. I was the biggest loser cause I had the most to lose. She wanted friendship, but I can’t even have platonic relationships with straight women. It’s a blokey, bloke thing. And especially Australian.

Don’t think it's my first run in with a lesbian that’s been a case of mistaken identity. It’s ironic how unlucky I am in love sometimes. 

But at least a wonderful song came of the whole non-affair.

Poker machines are the scourge of Australia. Poor people play them, rich people own them. There's no grey area there.

But it is black and white that we're being screwed by Biggy Business and his good mate, Paidoff Politician. When the previous federal government decided to regulate how much punters can lose, the Poker Machine Industry raised $20 million dollars within minutes, and with dedicated lobbyists working against the best interests of the general public, they literally bashed the government into submission, and blanketed the airways with pro poker machine propaganda. It's pretty much the way Joseph Goebbels would've handled the situation, and it worked. Adolphe Abbott would have been most chuffed, jawohl!

Poker Machines wreck people's lives, and mostly the poor in society. Tony Abbott has chosen to have priests in all schools; ministering to the young. Let these same ministers warn children about the monster downunder, the Poker Machine Industry. It's scary. 

Our Prime Minister certainly won't - he's too beholden to Biggy and his Gang.
