Wennink’s new four-track EP, ‘Wolf In My Clothes’ marks the singer/producer’s debut release on Automatik. Based in London, Wennink’s vocals and productions can be heard on some of the most recognised labels in dance music including Afterlife, Crosstown Rebels, and This Never Happened. Often teaming up with his DJ/Producer wife Henri Bergmann, Wennink has previously performed as Anaphase and also lent his talents to artists like Rinzen, Oliver Koletzski, Pete Tong & John Monkman.

Wennink’s three new originals allow for listeners to see a more artistic side to the producer’s evolving discography. Best known for his vocals on some of melodic house and techno’s most recognisable tracks, Wennink’s songwriting ability and rich melodies allow him to dig deep into his creative arsenal.

Not to be forgotten, the fourth track on the EP is a club-ready remix from Rinzen of the EP’s title track. The Los Angeles-based producer and DJ’s melodic and cinematic soundscapes can be heard in his 2024 debut album on Lane 8’s This Never Happened. Already receiving incredible DJ support from Adriatique, Rinzen's ’Wolf In My Clothes’ remix adds the closing touches to Wennink’s EP.

ICONYC's sophisticated underground project W Berlin returns to present its much-anticipated sophomore outing, Morning Slide. A collaborative effort between Serbian superstar Space Motion and Israeli powerhouse Stylo, the two-track Morning Slide EP explores a more sensual take on Afro-led sound while challenging the outlines of the genre.

'Morning Slide', the introduction to Space Motion & Stylo's latest adventure, unfurls over a richly textured percussive layer before pulling back the curtains on the seductive vocals of Nes Mburu, which set a heady tone for the piece, anticipating what's about to transpire. Meanwhile, a swaying low end takes hold of the cut, propelling the collaboration into deeper waters as mangled vocal flourishes interlock with reverb-drenched piano keys, generating a tantalizing dynamic that thrives on unbridled emotion. Always working a restrained kind of magic, Space Motion & Stylo make the most of every bar through a spacious break, allowing Nes Mburu to take the front seat for a sensation finale that feels irresistible.

Rounding out the record, our artistic pair presents us with the foreboding 'Apocalypse'. Built over heavy-handed percussion, its flavorful rhythm is enhanced by a series of sharp synths and dense stabs that enter the conversation in a most playful manner. An enthralling take on "speak-and-reply". Ewan Hoo's Army is a collaboration between progressive house luminaries Quivver (aka John Graham) and Dave Seaman. Their debut single, Voice Recognition, released on Music To Die For, features a stunning vocal from UK artist Leo Wood, who brings powerful emotion to the breakbeat-driven electronica.

On remix duties are Trilucid, London-based melodic and progressive artists who have seen their profile steadily rise over the last few years with records released on Colorize, Anjuna, UV, Proton, and their own label, Ionica Audio. They bring their trademark melodic sound to the remix, centered around a powerful arpeggio based on the original chords, which beautifully complements the vocal and layered sounds of the original.

The ‘Fragments XXVIII’ artwork is a photograph of a Scalloped hammerhead shark cruising the reef wall at Darwin Island, Ecuador, taken by Brooke Pyke. Brooke is an award-winning marine life photographer from Australia, based on Ningaloo Reef in WA. With a background in diving, she now focuses on ocean, travel, and adventure photography, capturing the beauty of the underwater world since 2014.

The scalloped hammerhead's wavy head sets it apart from other hammerhead species, whose heads are flatter. This shape enhances its electroreception, allowing it to better detect prey in sand or mud, a feature shared with other hammerheads but more pronounced in this species. Shark Conservation Fund (@sharkconservationfund) is a global collaboration focused on protecting sharks and rays, investing in policy, science, and advocacy to halt their decline.

I spent the day recording three new pieces in this stunning mid-century concert hall —each one composed specifically for this setup, with the goal of capturing something raw, intimate, and true to the sound of the instruments.
