"New Ascetic II" (2022)

Sequel to "New Ascetic" (2020), which was an illustration of the harshness of adapting to a frugal lifestyle, "New Ascetic II" distributes small amounts of the first fragments of some spiritual liberation ; patiently created by the discipline necessary for conducting this way of life.

The compositions of this album are accompanied by recordings made in the spring of 2022 in Caen and its surrounding countryside:
- A bottle of Carapelli Classico olive oil 75cl
- Two tiny water streams (10km south of Caen)
- Two horses in the same area
- The abbey church of Saint-Etienne in Caen (using the reverberation of the abbey church for the instruments accompanying this recording)
- Of a spring storm in the evening at my window
- Birds at 6 a.m. at my window

This album uses digital emulations of 6 instruments:
- A Farfisa electronic organ (1960s, Italy)
- A 3.7 meter high giant piano, the Klavins Model 370i (1980s, Germany)
- A Mellotron keyboard activating magnetic tapes corresponding to the notes played - emulation of the original tapes - mainly the flute and the choir (1950s, United Kingdom)
- A classical cello
- A Hammond B-3 electronic organ (1960s, USA)
- A Minimoog synthesizer (1970s, United States) just used on two tracks.

Instrument emulations by Arturia, Native Instruments and Harmonic Subtones.
Effects used: Reverbs Blackhole and AltiVerb (for the abbey church); SoundToys suite.

No other sound sources were used for this album (except a Lex Luger vocal tag on "Ecclesiastical XII" and a kick on "Magical Water Stream", both almost unused)

Composed, produced, mixed and mastered in 2022 in Caen by Aemillion.

Suite de "New Ascetic" (2020), qui était une illustration de la rudesse de l'adaptation à un mode de vie frugal, "New Ascetic II" distribue au compte-goutte les premiers fragments de libération spirituelle patiemment engendrés par la discipline nécessaire pour assumer ce mode de vie.  

Les compositions de cet album sont accompagnés d'enregistrements réalisés au printemps 2022 à Caen et sa campagne environnante : 
- D'une bouteille d'huile d'olive Carapelli Classico 75cl
- De deux minuscules ruisseaux de la voie verte (10km au sud de Caen) 
- De deux chevaux dans le même secteur
- De l'abbatiale Saint-Etienne de Caen (avec utilisation de la réverbération de l'abbatiale pour les instruments accompagnant cet enregistrement) 
- D'un orage printanier le soir à ma fenêtre 
- D'oiseaux à 6 heures du matin à ma fenêtre

Cet album utilise des émulations numériques de 6 instruments : 
- Un orgue électronique Farfisa (années 60, Italie)
- Un piano géant de 3,7 mètres de haut, le Klavins Model 370i (années 80, Allemagne) 
- Un clavier Mellotron activant des bandes magnétiques correspondant aux notes jouées - émulation des bandes d'origine - principalement la flute et le chœur (années 50, Royaume-Uni) 
- Un violoncelle classique
- Un orgue électronique Hammond B-3 (années 60, Etats-Unis)
- Un synthétiseur Minimoog (années 70, Etats-Unis) juste utilisé sur sur deux morceaux.

Emulation des instruments par Arturia, Native Instruments et Harmonic Subtones. 
Effets utilisés : réverbes Blackhole et AltiVerb (pour l'abbatiale) ; suite SoundToys. 

Aucune autre source sonore n'a été utilisée pour cet album (à l'exception d'un tag vocal de Lex Luger sur "Ecclesiastical XII" et d'un kick sur "Magical Water Stream") 

Composé, produit, mixé et masterisé en 2022 à Caen par Aemillion.
