Jag har alltid haft stort förtroende för Mattias omdöme och tankar om min musik. Så man skulle kunna säga att det är hans fel att denna låt omarbetades och gjordes om. En annan version av låten kom ut 2007 med namnet Hiro. Nu är den omarrangerad, ommixad och ommastrad. Självklart fick namnet bytas till Om Du Vill.

In a state of covid boredom and post-surgery Tobias Borelius of Emerald Park decided resurrect Emerald Park but do it by himself, without the old members. Some new songs were written but the main focus were to re-used some songs originally in Swedish which deserved some new love.
One thing led to another and a collaboration had started with producer and musician Carl Granberg, also known as Hate The Boyfriend. During the process of recording and mixing they kept the old sound of Emerald Park in the back of their heads, but also tried to develop it into something else. The lead-vocals were shared between the two and various friends were invited sing and play. 
Little Things is released November 4th and is the first single from the upcoming album Lovers In Reverse by Emerald Park featuring Hate The Boyfriend which will be released February 2023.

Littlethings - feat. Hate the Boyfriend

Back in 1982 a song about a walk in a summerrain was released by a popular Swedish band. Music life in Sweden was by then divided into two groups. It was almost like the race between Blur-Oasis or Beatles-Rolling Stones. I was a child at that time but grew up with that competition and tend to lean on what would be the Beatles or Blur side.
In July I heard this song the radio and came up with the idea for the lyrics to "We Wasted All Our Memories" which was by then already in the process of being recorded.  I can’t disguise that I’m bit attracted to the nostalic lyrics that the band tend to write. 

We Wasted All Our Memories is the the sophomore co-op single by Emerald Park, Danish Daycare and The Lonely Sasquatch. The tempo is higher this time and the song almost has a dance-feel to it. Stars or Arcade Fire might be something to refer to. The emotional mood though, follows the previous song with the Nordic melancholy, which is signified by a nostalgic hopefulness.

The song was recorded at A Place To Mourn by Mattias (The Lonely Sasquatch). The instruments were played by Mattias, Tobias, Daniel and our common friend Linus Lindvall. Daniel (Danish Daycare) did the mixing and Carl Granberg did the mastering.

We Wasted All Our Memories

afmusic is celebrating its 10-Year Anniversary with the CD compilation “Join the Dark Side, We Have the Music!”. The 14-track album, to be released on November 2, includes songs from the label’s main artists Principe Valiente, Golden Apes, The Search, (((S))) and The Silence Industry, as well as unheard and rare material from bands the label has worked with in the past years.

afmusic can look back at more than 150 digital releases and a successfully established strategy to offer a large part of the repertoire as a net label under a free license. Next to those, there have been more than 100 CD or Vinyl releases in the Dark Wave-, Gothic-, Post Punk- and Independent-Genre.

But this compilation is much more than looking back, it’s also a preview of things to come.

With previously unreleased tracks from Golden Apes (“Voykova” is taken from their upcoming album “Kasbek” to be released in March 2019), Emerald Park, Principe Valiente, The Silence Industry, Shearer and Supreme Soul this compilation takes the listener to the future of www.aenaos-records.com.

The Cave

One of northern Europes most successful bands releasing music under a Creative Commons license is back after some 4 years of silence. ”Rules Don’t Apply” was recorded by Mattias Larsson and Linus Lindvall from Cub&Wolf. The recording process was a struggle to find the bands musical roots. The search ended up in the nineties with lots of guitars and not so many synths as before. 
After the recording sessions Daniel and Tobias mixed the songs. In the last stages of mixing Ola Frick of Moonbabies joined them in the studio for some extra magic and also because the band wanted to rediscover the sound of For Tomorrow (2008). With his final touch the band found what they had been searching for. 
The lyrics is about being true and honest to yourself. Everyone around you will notice if you’re not. People hide behind computers and pretending to be someone else or buying things to impress their neighbors, scared of showing who they really are. That’s a shame.
