San Francisco based record label Roam Recordings celebrates its 100th release with a compilation from beloved alumni and new artists offering original work spanning darker shades of disco, cosmic techno, psychedelic, and acid house. What started as a group of ravers in the mid 90s that roamed the countryside (mostly in the US, Canada, and Mexico) looking for parties has evolved under the direction of its boss Jason Peters into a record label featuring a diverse array of internationally known artists. The intent of the record label is to continue the journey in search of new sounds while honoring the past. The Roam 100 Compilation is a milestone in that journey. It has been arranged to be enjoyed from beginning to end and to be rifled through at will.

Expert Bouncers signals the return of Stevie R to his imprint Inside Out Records, working with longtime collaborator and modular synthesis expert TAOMA.
The EP starts off with Orbit carrot, a high-energy, left-field disco track with modular experiments, heavily destroyed vocal samples and a sense of musical freedom balanced with maturity that is characteristic of Stevie Rs recent releases.
No-holding back remixes by Intergalactic house legend Man Power and peak-time expert Freudenthal complete the first part of this EP. Sequential biscuits is a wonky collection of modular acid lines produced in the studio during a late night jam, and re-worked in a slow, percussion based dub by Parisinos.

As soon as we realized just how serious the COVID19 situation was, all of us here at AEON Towers felt strongly that we must try to do something to help.

The virus had put an end to all live events so putting on an AEON party for charity wasn’t an option. With that in mind we felt we should do something around the label. It was also important to us to involve our AEON family too which is why the obvious answer was to open up some of our catalogue by way of a remix competition, with the winning remixes being released and all the profit being donated to the WHO COVID19 Response Fund.

We were mind blown and humbled by, not only the number of remixes that were submitted, but also the high quality of the music. It made choosing the best ones a very difficult task. We think we chose the best ones though, and we will release the results on July 3rd via Bandcamp only.

To those of you who can afford it, please dig deep and help us raise some money for a very good cause!

A special thanks goes to everyone who worked for free on this project permitting us to collect every cent only for charity!

Last March we’ve been lucky to have him featured on Lost Tapes Vol. 3 (Pt. I) with his ‘Computer Controlled Drum Rhythm’. Now Jepe will finally release his first solo EP on AEON. 
The Berlin-based Portuguese producer and DJ has created an uplifting yet nostalgic EP including three originals and a remix by Johannes Albert. The Restless Soul EP began to shape during last spring, as Jepe was roaming between enjoying sunsets on Kreuzberg’s Admiralbrücke and the white sandy beach of his hometown, Aveiro.  
The first track ‘Congo Bongo Acid’ is an, at times, trippy combination of 80s inspired synths and an electro drumatronic Congo pattern. Following the opening track, ‘Reasonable Doubts’ feels a bit more sunny thanks to a combination of luminous synth arrangements. However, some parts of the song make you reasonably doubt the truthfulness of the ecstatic melodies. Lastly, ‘Restless Soul’ reflects just that with its urgent bassline that leaves hardly any time to breathe. With some delirious keys embracing you, you find yourself listening to disco disguised as house, driving your convertible on a Los Angeles Highway.
To complete The Restless Soul EP, AEON invited Johannes Albert to remix the record’s title track. The Berlin-based honcho of Frank Music is never shy to add a soothing melodic touch to the mix, taking ‘Restless Soul’ on an acid- driven tour to the dancefloor.
Altogether, a versatile set of tracks delivered by the forward-thinking German label.
