Anyone who is familiar with modern dance music has heard the name Lee Van Dowski from his impressive body of work over the past decade on thriving labels like Bpitch Control, Mental Groove Records, and Soma Quality Recordings to name a few. Since joining the Mobilee family this year with the release “Branding You Damned” on Leena Music he has released new material at a steady pace, with “The Impossible” following shortly after on the parent label. In between his consistent output of releases on Mobilee he has found time to release records on other labels this year such as Intaco and Daze & Confused while regularly touring throughout the world. 

Showing no signs of slowing down the ever-busy French producer and DJ will start the year off with a bang with a stellar new release on Mobilee.“050504” features two new tracks and his megadub remix of label co-founder Anja Schneider’s “Dubmission.” His latest venture showcases a sound that he has become knowingly famous for with haunting melodies and uplifting Tech House beats that are for sure to fill dance floors with excitement and energy. Alex Ferrazzi and Matteo Keemani a.k.a. Blue Mondays, longtime Laterra friends and collaborators (with releases on Sonar Kollektiv, Rebirth, Snatch!,Memento, Manocalda as well), strike again. They do it, as usual, their very own way: shades of Balearic flavours in there, but with a very dark and malicious twist. Marvin & Guy add some disco nuances (keeping it raw and obscure, though), while Nick Anthony Simoncino delivers a solid, strict, gloomy dancefloor affair. No frills, mad quality.

Premiere: Giorgia Angiuli - Inspiration (Henry Saiz Remix) [Stil Vor Talent]

James Rodrigo is Waltervelt, the next hot young talent to land on the mighty Ellum Audio label.

Born in Joinville, Brazil, this 25-year-old has already been involved in the dance scene for a decade and has made his mark at the key clubs in South America. His well-formed sound is a smooth fusion of Italo disco, techno and electro that swells over you to make for immersive listening.

Adventurous opener ‘Lunar Operation’ is just that, a superb sonic trip built on rugged bass rumbles with old school cowbells and a real sense of cosmic drama from the synths and strings. It’s expansive, colourful and as cerebral as it is moving. 

The excellent ‘Magman’ is just as evocative but has a darker atmosphere with shooting lasers and tension in the bass riffs that keep you locked as you shoot through the sky.

This is another masterful EP on Maceo Plex’s agenda-setting Ellum Audio.
