Catz 'n Dogz present a brand new EP on their Step Recordings, this time coming from Spanish House Music veteran Danny B.

After dropping Prog House rollers from Baldo and Youandewan or 4/4 Techno flavoured cuts from Lady Blacktronika and Elisa Bee, Step Recordings is about to release something more soulful and closer to original House music. The man behind this is Danny B, a Spanish producer heavily inspired by masters like Frankie Knuckles, ‪Larry Heard‬ and Kerry Chandler. His 'Find Myself' EP is a collection of 4 original tracks, a masterfully crafted mix of acidy basslines, broken beats, warm pads and dub flavoured stabs, the perfect combination of elements for dancefloor fillers. PREMIERE: Duncan Forbes - Strobe Dancer [49 North]

Here’s another debut release on Hommage, this time from the lively palm tree himself... Afonelli. Earlier this year Afonelli appeared on the HI remix package, with his excellent ‘Red Nosed’ remix of ‘Red’. The tune featured deep basslines, neat progression and big booming bells. On this two-track EP we get more of Afonelli’s unique style, bringing something a little different to the table…
‘Moonlight Drive’ kicks things off and we’re transported straight into a strange new land. Afonelli adopts a considered approach, with an intro that lasts over a minute, gently guiding us into the main body of the track. The pace is slow, but the energy is infectious, percolating as an array of cosmic effects accompany the vocal. After a short break, we move into the second half which features more of Afonelli’s virtuoso-esque flair.
On the flip we have ‘Wings Of Copper’, which begins with the strange crunchy texture of a heavily distorted beat. That beat forms the core of the track, which soon evolves into a multi-layered composition. Acid-esque squelches combine with emotive new wave-inspired bass notes and haunting atmospherics to create a seriously enthralling piece of music.

We are happy to announce the debut EP of the Rotterdam based contemporary artist and musician Silas Schletterer aka Machinegewehr. After his track ‘The Maze’ on a well received Lost Tapes Vol. 4, he is no stranger to the AEON camp anymore.
Known from his releases on Jennifer Cardini’s Correspondent and Amsterdams finest Bordello A Parigi, Machinegewehr delivers a strong 3 track debut EP with the title ‘Nutant’.
The EP kicks off with DeVilleneuve: 80's vibes are not new to the Rotterdamer, but for this track he tried something new. A dark approach yet joyful at the same time. A modern/ futuristic summer song about 2 lovers, that spend the most happy time together. For now and forever. “Life is so much better with your soulmate by your side...” Machinegewehr says and thats the message of the song.
Nothing less should be transported in the remix of the label boss Alex Niggemann. His ‘Blazing In The Sun Remix’ fully represents and lives up to the name. Happy sunny vibes inspired late 70’s Disco and early 80’s Italo a la Lime & Paul Parker, reinterpreted in a modern way. Probably the happiest song we have ever heard from Alex.
Clearly recognisable that „Down in the storm" was inspired by old school electro that uses space and trippy melodies to tell this adventurous story that keeps you focused from beginning to end.
Nutant, the title track comes closest to Machinegewehr signature sound. The classic Italo, 80's, Sci-Fi vibes, made for the dance floor. A track with lots of energy that will make you want to move, but at the same time lifts people up to follow this journey through space.
"When I finished this EP, I really wanted to look for a label that rhymed with the vibe of this new EP. As the 3 tracks are pretty different from each other, but together form an EP that to me feels new and original, AEON felt like the perfect label to me.“ Machinegewehr says.
