AERYN PFAFF SETS

Aeryn Pfaff has been a mainstay in Toronto's queer underground since he started DJing in 2012. DJing has brought him across Canada, and to the United States and Mexico City, where he's showcased a broad range of techno, disco, italo, breaks, dnb, leftfield, jersey club, ballroom, baile funk, rave, house and more, sometimes one at a time and sometimes all at once. Post-pandemic he's started a new party called 2GETHER at the Toronto Eagle, and he's well known for playing Backdoor and Toronto's legendary Promise parties. 

"I love connecting with people and making them happy with music. I'm the kind of DJ who will play gay bubblegum pop jams for the drag show then I'll put on a harness and go play the darkest warehouse party in the city, go to bed and wake up to play the disco tea dance. Why not use every crayon in the box?"

Notes on the Mix ///
"This mix is a little softer than some of the recorded stuff I've put out in the last little while. There's some acid and disco sounds, it's a little trippy and hazy at parts, and you can still hear that global influence I love. It ends on a nice ambient baile funk edit of Rapture by iiO."

Aeryn Pfaff II is a versatile Toronto based DJ with roots in the queer techno scene. "I play clubs, warehouses, festivals, patios, drag shows, disco, techno, house, breaks, dnb, jersey club, baile funk, vogue house, rave, ambient sets at the weed dispensary — I like everything," he says. "DJing has taken me all over North America, and 10 years in I still feel like I'm just getting started." His party 2GETHER at The Black Eagle will relaunch in May, and he has more on the horizon. "I wanna bring back my indie sleaze party Lamé that I do with Sophie Jones, I've been working with Promise to figure out what Cherry Beach Festival is gonna look like this summer so that's really exciting, and I wanna start an Italo Disco party soon too. I've never fit neatly into any box and that's the way I like it.
