A very strong and moving song - Really effective vocal arrangement and superb guitars :)

Spoke with some Newfies recently and told them this story, and they informed me that many settlers chose the most remote areas to settle to hide from the British, who wanted to bring them back to England.

Strong and well measured beat coupled with interesting lyrics make this a very deep and enjoyable production!

Loving this, the guitar work is superb as are the vocals. Great work.

Here is a new track I wrote and recorded.

The song was written as part of a concept album that I started a year or so ago. I may never actually record the full album but might release the songs over time. The album was going to be about my ancestors living in Newfoundland and the stories i heard over the years.

This one is about the story of how Braggs Island (where my grandfather was born) got its name. I heard the story from my late cousin Sam Feltham. He said there was a small community living on the Island and one tough winter they ran out of supplies and were in a bad way. A man named Bragg and his two sons loaded a boat with supplies and attempted to bring relief to them. In the process and storm developed and the ship sank and Bragg and his sons were drowned. They named the Island after them in honor of the selfless sacrifice they made.

I tried to capture with sound the feeling of sailing on icy seas. Also I wanted to tell the story in an artistic way. Not sure if the song is any good but hope some of you enjoy it.

First, I would like to say thank you for reading this. That means that you liked my songs enough to see what I’m about. That means a lot to me.
I’m a working man and a family man. The years digging ditches and breaking my back to put food on the table, has given me enough ammo to write a song or two. I like to write songs about real life with all of its struggles, beauty and grit…

In this digital age of perfect music I'm trying to leave the human imperfections in the tracks. Most parts are done straight through with no splices. A missed note or chord here or there, bit out of time...trying to keep it raw. Maybe I go too far sometimes?
