A former pro dancer who performed all over Europe, ÆSTR (\ɛs.tɛʁ\) is a French techno DJ & producer. Originally bassist in a psychedelic rock band on Paris, she began producing her tracks in 2011 while collaborating with musicians. She later integrated a psytrance collective which influenced her productions toward psytechno. Strongly grounded into her metal and industrial roots, this multifaceted artist draws you into a dense universe where urgency becomes heavy.

ÆSTR DJ Set, Umanz event @Loupika, Lyon - 05.09.2024

Ancienne Danseuse pro ayant parcouru l’Europe, ÆSTR (\ɛs.tɛʁ\) est productrice techno depuis 2012 et pratique le mix depuis 2017. Cette artiste multifacettes est fortement imprégnée par la musique industrielle, la psytrance, le post-punk et le post-métal depuis 20 ans.

Auparavant bassiste, elle est sensible aux rythmiques frénétiques et appuyées, aux sonorités froides et métalliques. Elle puise ses inspirations chez Skinny Puppy, Nine Inch Nails, Cult Of Luna, Front242, Juno Reactor, Front Line Assembly, Perc... Mais aussi la littérature, le cinéma SF/Horreur, la spiritualité et l’astrophysique. Ses productions visent à surprendre, et invitent à la transe. La musique comme medium vers un état modifié de conscience.

ÆSTR vous entraîne dans un univers dense où l'urgence se fait pressante, lourde. Sa sensibilité musicale et de danseuse lui donnent une approche différente du dance floor. Matérialiser les émotions par le mix. Jouer sur les tensions, créer la surprise, inviter à la transe.

Derrière les platines, c'est entre EBM, TBM, Techno Indus, Hard Indus, et Dark Techno qu'elle navigue. Créant un dialogue intense, sur des sets hybrides, où le maitre mot est LACHER-PRISE. 

Basée en France, elle a pu se produire à Grenoble (Mark XIII, Drakart) et à Lyon : Sonic (after-show), Rock'n'Eat, Péniche Loupika, Terminal Club. Les sets d'ÆSTR, à la fois sombres et groovy, font l'effet d'une rave d'un autre monde.

ÆSTR, DJ et productrice basée en France, a commencé son parcours artistique en 2010, en tant qu'Yshar : danseuse professionnelle et musicienne dans des projets électro-world live. Auparavant bassiste dans un groupe de psyché-rock à Paris, elle s'est produite au Hadra Festival et a tourné à travers la France et l'Europe. 

En 2011, elle commence à produire des morceaux sous le nom d'ÆSTR, poussée par son amour pour la musique industrielle, ambient et techno. Elle les fusionne avec la psytrance pour créer des morceaux psytechno.  Elle commence le mix en 2017 dans le berceau français de la musique électronique : Grenoble. Aujourd'hui basée à Lyon, elle a établi la signature de son DJ set : une base solide en Techno industrielle, rehaussée par l'âpreté de la Noise rythmique, la Dark Techno et le groove sexy de l'EBM. Elle crée un dialogue organique, ponctué par des voix atmosphériques et des percussions métalliques. Son expérience de la danse et de la musique lui permet de créer une expérience hypnotique, surprenante et brutale. 

Jouant sur la tension et les émotions, les set d’ÆSTR sont imprégnés de révolte. Elle a partagé le line-up avec Ancient Methods, Crystal Geometry, et récemment avec The Hacker pour son événement organisé avec Legowelt.

ÆSTR, is a France-based DJ & Producer, began her artistic journey in 2010, as Yshar, a professional dancer and musician. She toured across France and Europe, from intimate venues to big festivals.

Driven by her love for ambient, psytrance and techno music, she started production in 2011 as ÆSTR. She began djing in 2017 in the french cradle of electronic music : Grenoble.

ÆSTR has established her hybrid DJ set signature : a foundation in Industrial Techno, with rhythmic Noise, Hypnotic, Dark Techno and the groove of EBM. Constantly evolving, she explores polyrhythms and multi-decks to deepen the narrative. Her artistic background infused her dj performances : tension, energy, and letting go combine, sculpting time. Improvising with the audience’s l energy to create a genuine and mesmerizing experience. 

Represented by Cruel Machine agency, she recently joined Techno Fatale : a FLINTA collective promoting industrial techno music events.
Over the last year ÆSTR shared line-up with renowned artists : Ancient Methods, Crystal Geometry, The Hacker, Alpha Sect and Mind | Matter.
