Aethek - 2501 is an homage to the masterpiece Manga and Anime "Ghost in the Shell" by Shirow Masamune for the manga and Kenji Kawai for the music. It holds the status of being one of most important cultural heritages of Japan in terms of manga and animation, standing as part of the realm that held the test of time, inspired millions of men and women around the world and pushing imagination beyond.

22 years later, after several experiments with the vocals occasionally, and after I had the honour of meeting one of GITS producers, Mitsuhisa Ishikawa of studio I.G. in person - explaining that through the track FiberTwist the synaesthesia of neurofunk belongs to his realm as well.

I dedicate this homage to pay my utmost respects to the creators of the realm, to contribute with hope to keep this magic alive. Next to Akira and Patlabor, this is the world I live in.

Special thanks to Antireal and MethLab for the struggle put in on a daily cyberpunk basis.

Arcine’s (aka 4Flexx) incredible physical modelled sound design and Jon Deerhill’s take on electronica and depth result in a evolving and mutating tribute soundtrack that fit perfectly into the twisted universe of “Annihilation”.

Arcine & Jon Deerhill - Annihilation [TCM003]

"Binary runner is solely made to say “She won’t live forever, but then again who does?” Once you start to stand under the rain of synth homage to the legendary film. The name itself was supposed to carry the whole sentence but Binary came in as Amar Mulabegobic and Jan Sima Hyperbinary created a stunning cyberpunk lightshow for Lenka’s Mi fashion label. The visions merged, so did the name. When I made this track, I have pictured a girl standing on the roof (always on the roof haha) engulfed by city lights, releasing her emotional side as a manifest of her struggles in the technological world of chaos. But still both ironically and unironically sounding happy on specific chords. The beat has both progression and no progression, as it is a way to describe the brief moment that resembles a short film."

'Ithaca' is a five track EP structured around a 20 year voyage. The EP was written in multiple sessions in San Francisco and LA over a time span of eight years. It is quite dark in tone, but I think it also shows clearly that we had a lot of fun writing this material, obsessing over sounds, melodies and mixing synthetic, organic, orchestral and vocal textures (mostly our own vocals!)
