Created by David Duriez in 1999, Brique Rouge is french underground institute on a mission to keep the true spirit of House alive. Acid, Chicago and New York House, or the power of Belgian, Dutch or Detroit Techno, Brique Rouge has been churning out releases for 26 years without ever sinking into cynicism, nostalgia or parody. Open minded, Brique Rouge has established itself as a key French label for the distribution of emerging and creative artists already known or totally unknown, from all over the world, who draw their inspiration from the roots of the genre, but also pursue the search for new vibes. David Duriez is known for making House and proper underground electronic music since the beginning of the 90's - 30 years in the music industry, founder and keeper of the [briquerouge] label, home of the best french electronic renegades since 1999, David Duriez is lurking in the shadow of the french Electronic scene, keeping it real and true. Artist in various styles of music, dj and innovator, he's always in search of new ways to distribute and value Electronic Music and always a step ahead. Definitely not just one for the hype.

Since 1994, David released over a hundred records under his name, tens under various pseudonyms, outputs mainly vinyl on the most renowned labels like 2020Vision, Ovum, Systematic, Pokerflat, F Communication, Mobilee, Under the Counter, Stickman, Classic Music Company, Crosstown Rebels, The End, etc .. (the list is long, see Discogs.com to be convinced) and as many remixes for some of the greatest (think Moby, DJ Hell, Telex, Random Factor, Johnny Fiasco, Paul Johnson, Kenny Hawkes or Mr.C).

Founder of the label Brique Rouge in 1999 and a whole galaxy of other labels, he participated in the creation of internationally recognized labels such as Robsoul, Freak n'Chic or Rz Muzik. David has carved out his own niche with his pigeonhole defying Brique Rouge label, and his helping to redefine underground electronic music. Brique Rouge has released deep house, jacking house, tech-house, acid house, vocal anthems and much more... Definitely a label for open-minded people, not stuck in one genre of House.

‘Days Gone’ is the highly-anticipated return of core Afterlife act and fans favourite, Mind Against. A year after their ‘Solaris’ EP (AL002), the duo of Alex and Federico Fognini show once again why their moving, supremely-produced tracks are held in such esteem.

The title track takes you to another dimension, with a synth line spiralling into cosmic space and drums beating into oblivion. ‘Cloud Nine’, a classy, comparatively-understated cut for the early hours brings the energy back down. Stepping up to remix ‘Cloud Nine’ is Dystopian talent Alex.Do, who strips the sound back and distills the original’s graceful flourishes, completing a high-quality chapter in the Afterlife story.

Originally featured on Yotto’s debut album ‘Hyperfall’, ‘Turn It Around’ now gets its own single release featuring an extended mix and two outstanding remixes courtesy of German artists Monkey Safari and Ruede Hagelstein.

Monkey Safari add their trademark sunshine sheen to ‘Turn It Around’, flipping the dark soundscape of the original into an uplifting composition of sliding synths and bubbly arpeggios. Berlin producer Ruede Hagelstein builds on Yotto’s original brooding arrangement with his ‘Rise Again’ remix, incorporating mechanised vocoders atop a menacing bassline.
