// About This Mix

In anticipation of my upcoming release with Mindspring Music via The Psychedelic Muse, I wanted to release this as a fresh perspective on the work I've been doing lately. 

If people dig what they hear in the Mindspring mix, I want them to have something to dig deeper into with my other material.

This mix is a dark, twisted adventure through the haunting corridors of dark psychedelic electronica; technical, groovy, intelligent soundscapes weaving together intricate tapestries of lush and deep sounds touching psychill, idm, psydub, glitch, breaks, jazz, psybient, techno, and with excursions into the abstract and back.

Traversing a delicate balance of uplifting emotional fabrics over dark contemplative soundscapes, Obnubilation is a journey into the deep caverns of the mind, where no emotion is safe from expression. 

The world is certainly a crazy place. While the Covid quarantine is slowly being lifted as humanity emerges into a new sense of reality, many of us are feeling more hopeful for the future after having the space to recharge, reassess, and recuperate. 

Unfortunately, juxtaposed against that emergence is the destructive nature of man's greed and lust for power as the world plunges into chaotic sociopolitical imbalance, war, division, and social unrest. 

We are witnessing humanity reach a new precipice as old emotions are processed, old ways are changed, and letting go of what no longer serves us. We are witnessing the death of the world while seeing the birth of a new spiritual reality all around us.

This mix is a tribute to this insanity. This big beautiful crazy mess we find ourselves in has so much beauty strewn about and there is a lot of potential for self-realization during these times.

Let curiosity carry you through this twisted psychill journey as you sit back, relax, and enjoy the music. Immerse your mind and spirit into these vibes and I'll see you on the other side.

On the Magic Carpet to Nevern Neverland

The Cord story began in the 2000s, releasing first breakbeat tracks on Hungary’s legendary Chi Recordings. Later he started to experiment on more psychedelic and experimental genres which resulted in releases on labels like Aleph Zero, Psylife Records, etc.

The biggest hit was Birdie EP on San Francisco-based Addictech Records, this was the start of immersing in psychedelic bass music which is his main interest still: storytelling using melody counterpoints, glitched folk vocals or twisted granular craziness filled with bass.
His performance is present every year at the biggest Hungarian festivals, being also a recurring performer of Ozorian Pumpui stage and resident of the Cordology mix series on Radiozora.
