“BASS DOWN, MASK UP- Breakbeat United Vol.18” is a 2.5hr mix featuring a 65 track journey through 2020 Breaks. This live, one-take recording is something I have been planning and working on since late last year and I couldn’t be more excited to share it with you. Packed with more BOOM & BASS than your dancing shoes can ever funk to, this is officially the longest mix in my signature Breakbeat United Series. My inspirado came from how much fun it was doing my 3 hour long “Quarantine Boom” Twitch shows during most of the 2020 pandemic. Those experiences made me realize how much I enjoy longer and deeper sets, but they only featured classic music from my back catalogue. Since all live shows were canceled because of Covid-19, I found myself with no creative outlet for my desire to play “NEW” Breaks released during 2020, so this project was born. “Bass Down. Mask Up” is a combination of that newfound love for the “long set” but with new music and my signature style of aggressive harmonic mixing. With an emphasis on the flow and vibe, this set is sure to delight the senses and please even the most fickle of Breakbeat fans! It’s also guaranteed to make any BBU vet giddy with BASS! Strap in for a ride you will not soon forget!

While i'm on an Essential Mix rollout what better way to add to the Oldbreaksmixes collection then a 2 hour Essential Mix from the godfather of Breaks, Rennie Pilgrem.

Rennie Pilgrem’s contribution to the early Nuskool Breaks scene is outstanding and is often considered responsible for the creation of the Nuskool Breaks genre. Before moving into breaks Rennie produced techno and acid house and was part of the influential rave group Rhythm Section along with Ellis Dee. Rennie is also the boss of Thursday Club Recordings aka TCR a label which he founded in 1993. TCR records was a major force in the Nuskool Breaks scene.

I'm back with Vol.2 of 'Keith Mac's Special Sauce', a monthly mix series I just launched on YouTube and Soundcloud. How is this different from my weekly streams you say? Well, I'm digging a little deeper for upfront music on these mixes to try to bring you a tailored musical experience that can be enjoyed over multiple listens, kind of like the "mixtapes" we used to record in the day. Overall I'm pleased with how this came out; there's a little distortion on my mic at the end there but that's what happens when we do it live, baby! Hope you guys enjoy!

Bomb's body rock disco show 3 - old school version

The Stanton Warriors have discography about as long as my arm ! Consisting of Dominic Butler and Mark Yardley, the duo have performed internationally at festivals and parties in Europe, America, Asia and Australia. Their name was taken from a manhole cover, made by Stanton Ironworks, which seemed fitting with their style of underground, cutting edge music.

The is so much to be said about this duo and their influence in electronic music today that i could go on forever....
This mix from back in March 2005 was recorded LIVE at Roxy, Prague and showcases the typical Booty Bass Breaks sound from them at that time. Enjoy !

The Gough Street Session Podcast was aired in the late 2000's by San Franciscan local Zach Moore. The podcast featured international acts such as Elite Force and a bunch of local talent too. This Breaks mix from Zach Moore was aired back in 2009 and mixed intirely on CD's.

The Essential Mix is a weekly radio show on BBC Radio 1 currently broadcast between 0:00 - 2:00 AM UK time on Saturday morning.
