They all sang together in perfect harmony as the smoke billowed and filled the room with a thick dense fog. It was epic and overwhelming by all proportions…

The sound was loud and raucous in the ears of each and every vocalist as they embraced the task at hand. This was what a chorus line was all about and praise be to the heavens above that they would be heard up there by whoever was looking down upon them.

Some had called them mad, some had questioned their beliefs. However, when they heard them sing, well – that was quite something else entirely.
 
Dominik Marz is a producer who has amassed a keen following from some fairly big and reputable names on the circuit. Red Axes, Solomun and many more have all supported in the past…

However, his latest offering for Glaswegian record label Belters might just be his biggest to date, a club ready EP which we’ve been informed has already been doing the business far and wide. For those eager eared dancers out there you might have heard this one already…

Already craping our attention with his sound, Dominik Marz never fails to deliver a catching and moving drum frame with enough space, this time in collaboration with Mexican artist Colossio. Both create a timeless, and pulsating set of tracks that groove along and around the "Erate EP“. Road-tested by Kristian, this EP is a perfect example of how music is capable to connect us in this case two artists living in different parts of the world who together form a marvelous piece of music.

Save Us Records proclaim their fifth release, with a three track EP by Affect!. Comprising of one original and two remixes, one each from Nick Devon and Kris Davis, ‘Akaria” upholds the quality of music that has now become synonymous with the label.
‘Akaria’ is the type of track that allows your mind to wander and never return. The sound is wholesome and seductive, with its dubbed chugging bass line and subtle breakdowns, which all flow effortlessly amongst a cascade of melodies and synth chords. 
Nick Devon hits things a little harder for his remix of ‘Akaria’. The synth chords are racier and the bass line is much tougher, creating a tension that is both electric and formidable. The full brunt of this remix however, sits with its dark percussive intricacies, which are layered seamlessly into Nick’s signature sound.
The final remix on the EP comes from Kris Davis. Imposing his own imprint upon ‘Akaria’, led Kris to really draw out the extremity of the strings, as well as the relentless nature of the tracks overall vibe. He manages to balance perfectly the melancholy of the original and the darkness within Nick’s remix.

┋ @kris_davis (Blueprint Artists - Portsmouth) presents 'Inertia'  Afterhour Sounds Podcast Nr.97┋

Unsere Nummer 97 kommt diese Woche von einem britischen Künstler, der mit seinem außergewöhnlichen Stil für Jubelstürme der Synapsen sorgt.

Die Rede ist von Kris Davis. Einem geheimnisvollen Wanderer, der mit seinen Sets und Produktionen schon seit mehreren Jahren die Orte auskundschaftet, die manch einem auf den ersten Blick nicht sofort bemerkbar werden.

Seine Musik ist immer durchzogen mit der typisch afterhourresken Spannung. Die Geheimformel lautet  Spannung und Entspannung. Und der Engländer weiß absolut was er tut, denn sein Sound bewegt sich irgendwo zwischen Hypnose, Experimental, Melancholie und Deep House. Allerdings reiht er alles so geschickt aneinander, dass daraus stets ein roter Faden entsteht. Durch die homogene Mischung teils verschiedener Stillrichtungen überstrapaziert er den Zuhörer niemals. Ganz im Gegenteil. In Zeiten melodisch eingängiger und teils einschläfernder Deep House Arrangements ohne Esprit und Wagnis, sorgt Kris Davis mit seinem frischen, andersartigen und dennoch eingängigen Sound für eine mehr als nur willkommene Abwechslung in Zeiten der elektronischen Weltmusik. 

Sein selbst geschaffener Ambient Techno ist aber nicht nur für die ganz späten bzw. frühen Stunden im Club und/oder Festival geeignet. Durch seinen behutsamen Aufbau und der sorgfältigen Auswahl geeigneter Lieder, schafft er auch Platz zum Träumen und Entspannen.

Uns freut es sehr diesen talentierten Künstler für unsere Reihe gewonnen zu haben, der es trotz seiner vielen Zeit im Studio geschafft hat, ein wundervolles Set aufzunehmen. Wir danken dir Kris.

The last 2 hours included lots of unreleased tracks combined with some favourte classics, which I've played especially for everyone who where there at that certain moment - so thats why I decided not to upload part 2 from my set.

I want to thank everyone for their massive good vibes -  I really couldn't wish for a better night.  A crazy, hot 'n steamy sold-out WEITER party at the iconic pop-temple Paradiso. We've made some unique memories that night...
