Next up for CKFM we have Edinburgh based DJ, noodle. "This mix was inspired by those early 00’s compilation CDs which were one seamless, continuous mix and soundtracked countless train journeys growing up. The CDs always seemed to have hyper-sexualised women throwing their heads back in ecstasy on the cover and evoked some kind of sleazy, flirty feeling within. This mix opens with progressive house and evolves into a journey of tribal-infused tech house from its’ golden era: the late 90’s and early 00’s. Percussion and groove-heavy bassline puncture throughout before finishing on euphoric house cuts. Tech house can be a bit of a dirty word these days, and I wish there was more appreciation for its original roots before it became commercialised."

GRDN DJ, EHFM resident and Subterranean Sound curator, noodle is constantly digging the internet for new sounds that feed her obsession with euphoric house, stripped back minimal and even slippery dubstep. Be sure to check out her monthly radio show on EHFM where she meanders playfully through her softer side: whether its hypnagogic ambient, rare 90’s hip-hop or twinkly house music.

Sunday mix 02 - Erico

For the next episode of Released Control, Anjawah has crafted a blissful one-hour mix brimming with pulsating basslines, dreamy acid swells, and trippy beats. Expect dancing to be inevitable. In the second hour, radio host Eclectic Elektra serves up a mix packed with house, breaks, tribal rhythms, and acid lines to set ablaze your Saturday night.

Anjawah’s love for electronic music has been shaped by her clubbing experiences in New York, Chicago, Detroit, and throughout Europe. After settling in Berlin, she picked up DJing and has played in some of the city’s prominent venues. Anjawah has a flair for mixing a range of genres to create deep, progressive and acid-infused soundscapes. On Saturday, March 9th, she will make her festival debut at the Power of Female Art Festival at Teufelsberg in Berlin.

He accepted our invitation to shed some light on the complex underground scene in Iran, one he is still part of. What's the creative process and the message behind this mixtape?

The mix is inspired by shiny sundays and warm summer nights on my balcony; doing my selfcare ritual, having favorite food, good drinks, and listening to music. The sun’s reflection in the house gives another dimension to the whole experience, and these days often inspire me a lot, make me feel warm inside, and appreciate the things. Working on this mix with the summer in mind, I realized that I was trying to capture these sweet balcony days.

Here we have the first half of DJ Fabrication's opening set recorded live at the last Affinity night that took place on 19th April 2024. On this night he joined Max & Stephen Brown on the line-up over at Eastern Bloc to provide a high-quality opening set filled with blissful dub techno, selected carefully to warmly welcome the crowd to the night ahead.
