Refuge Worldwide - Francachela - March 03 2022

This is the first of many from this series of mixes. These will be hour-long selections from different genres and sub-genres related to each other. Other selectors from Hamburg, Berlin, and Barcelona will be welcomed in the series to make it as diverse as possible!

For mix #001 I have selected a set of House records, mostly 90s and early 00s with a more modern inclusion from @laurenceguymusic. The first track is a version of Moloko of The Time is Now by the great François Kevorkian @francoisk-music (as played by the emblematic David Mancuso at the London #Loft 2001 Party).

For this episode of "Everything Okay?" DJ Aficionado (@aficionado_dj)invites a very special guest; Danny Bodega (@beaton-4). Danny, an Australian selector and DJ, has organized countless parties with renowned guests such as George Hysteric and Phil Mison. After meeting at the Love International, Aficionado and Bodega arranged a 2-hour mix at the Hallo:Radio HQ, the Schaltzentrale. Expect a wide range of sounds, from Zouk to House going through their beloved Balearic sound.

DJ Aficionado's debut on LYL Radio (@lyl_radio) is devoted to the prolific electronic music scene of Hamburg. The show includes exclusively tracks released on Hamburg-based labels or by artists from the Hanseatic city. Flowing from ambient to electro, this mix showcases underground sounds born out of the distinctive ambience of Hamburg. Among others, it includes tracks recorded live from the epicentre of underground club scene that is the Golden Pudel Club. It also revisits tracks from some more mainstream labels such as Pampa, managed by the renowned Hamburg-local DJ Koze, as well as music from burgeoning artists such as L.F.T. and Phuong-Dan. Enjoy!

In this episode of Aficionado's Francachela, Pau Roca (@paur) takes over one hour of the show. The Barcelona-based artist, besides his well-established DJ career, manages Bons Records label and recently founded Escola record label with Breixo Martínez.

Pau has paid tribute to house music, disco, boogie, electronic, and everything in between at his Libido parties at the emblematic Nitsa Club. He has become something of an institution in Barcelona with his radio show at Dublab. He also recently released his first solo EP on Los Angeles' Pleasure of Love, a release that includes a remix of the legendary Pal Joey.
