Blue Song

Evaporate is the first song I wrote on ukulele, it marks the beginning of my love affair with this little instrument. This is a love song, a relationship over song. A friend,Yvonne, said to me once when I was lamenting this relationship something along the lines of,"...it's just like you're in a big pond at the moment but it will dry up and you'll be fine…" Yeah I thought, it'll evaporate and I'll be left standing tall in my dignity, eventually. I still love that person and she me, we are good friends.This was recorded by SimK at Liz's house which was the birthing of The Monday Project band. Sounds so different now with a 5 piece band performing it. ;)

Crying Song

Take two of 'The Laundry Powder Waltz'. I wrote and played a keyboard double bass line and added a wah wah ukulele intro and solo on my favourite tenor ukulele. This was recorded with James Clarke in his home studio on Logic...... sometimes it's the oddest things that remind you of someone no longer in your life.

The Laundry Powder Waltz

Inspired by cycling, swimming, alliterations and roller derby. Recorded by and at the home of James Clark and Viv Tate using gargeband. Viv as the human metronome on eggs and me on vocals, uke, synth violin, cello and bass. If playing through laptop or phone speakers you may lose the bass. So best to plug it into something more powerful and fiddle with the equiliser.

Awomadah fig.
Awomadah has been performing as a soloist on guitar for nigh on 20 yrs. For the past 4 yrs she's been performing with Melbourne 5 piece The Monday Project http://themondayproject.bandcamp.com and engrossed in ukuleles. Writing new tunes, transcribing old tunes and transforming covers on her favourite tenor ukulele.
She's also one hell of a whistler. 
Her voice has been described as playfully articulate in a nonconventional way... Timeless....Hypnotic. 
Music blogger John Hamilton once wrote, "Awomadah's amazing and versatile voice draws you in leading you through a unique emotional landscape.... At first I'm thinking Kate bush or Tori Amos, frankly, she transcends both those women and finds an amazing place all of her own."
