Going through both sides will take you to a well aranged after party mode, still going forward in a very solid and well expressed rhythm. This release easily flows into the entourage and becomes something memorable.

The following three-tracker release is one of those that are about to take you on a very clear ride. We will start with some tensioning and rising loops and will keep you up while the swiftly vibes are getting to you. With The first composition on A side, Alex won’t give you a break - it’s a one breath composition where you don’t have any time for a second thought. When it looks like both chunky bass and kicks are going away - a very sharp-shaped and acidy synth will remain on the watch and will ensure the continuously driving thrill. Getting to the second part of this side, what can we say, straight from the beginning a thick bass line makes it’s introduction in order to lead you into some awakeness on a early morning on the dancefloor. Stepping into the game, Diferit on the remix for B side is bringing you a blend of both tracks you’ve heard before. Very rich in vibrations of different spectres and proveniences - from very clear and clean kicks to a bouncy bass line to the very zippy and zappy sounds of his unique style. The pleasure of having these two minds behind the second release of Aforisme is ours.

We extend our catalog with a fresh addition from our Spanish friend QILI and his aerial tone mark. He makes the move with no hesitation and instigate a rigid line of skittered kicks which are quickly shadowed by diving basal sounds. An arrangement of scratchy tones create a driving frame for this composition. It’s an adulteration between dance-floor oriented and atmospheric states. Half way through, the rhythm is soaking into a melodic footing with subsequenting keys that are merely audible in the background. A more mellow experience is due on A2. Liquid patterns and bird like shots, makes the audition to be more laid back and relaxed. QILI left some room for your own thoughts and a very lofty feeling. Over turning this records brings us to Suolo’s aphotic comprehension of the “Lup Vechi”. A very compressed selection of kicks & snare in a company of jangling percussions and bleeps. The crystalline keys is the fragment that keeps the resemblance between the two artists. Astral and stretched vocals is something that gets under the skin on this one. A mastership that belongs to sepulchral locations with a whale of gramophones.

In the last few years, Suolo haven’t stopped contributing to the volatile and vibrant scene of electronic music of Romania and over the borders of it, shaping his productions into something that is now distinctive to a trained ear. What’s good about him? His love for compressed bass-lines? His ability to intrigue? We think both of them + even more. The release in case is nothing than a proof of that.

From what we know, both Tarantism and Mirror Dance do not belong to 2019 or 2018 either. We’ve got our hands on some earlier creations of his which with no surprise are actual until today and are definitely representatives of his. A side outsets with an opaque bass, giving a long enough moment of adjustation for the listener therefore avoiding any discomfort as to the development of the piece in the future. Not too long after the the low tones set in, a strand of claps come out, clearly indicating the direction of the piece. Everything cited above is reverberating in a melodic crawl way of atmospheric provenience. We found ourselves in a safe-house somewhere far away from the day-to-day game.

Mirror Dance is a composition of certainty and very self driven dynamic, layers blending one with another, creating new beginnings within the same partition. He crafts the elements into an uptempo string like rhythm, bouncing from one of the side of the room to another with absolute easiness. His usual accentuated drum line is present but it’s not the front of this piece as Suolo is actually leading the morphosis of the chantic side. Ingredients that seemed to be pointy and acute at the beginning are getting to be a part of warmly saturated and harmonious open space wander around.

Tarantism EP

As time passes, Aforisme label is only adding gems to its catalog and the next one to shine is Root with his Cezariad EP. A combination of deep drums throbbing through layers of bass lines and melodious partitions.

He outsets with “Cezariad” – a dynamic composition with satiny claps that evolve throughout the time of listening into a core part of the piece. With a start-to-end listening, we can hear the bass line groaning sometimes in the back of the glossy keys and electronic environment. The casual shots are colonizing the imagination of the listener, estranging it from the primary source of the sound. A peaceful start is something to sum this up.

“Black Gold” – the name speaks for itself. A metallic continuance of the record with generosity in bleakly sounds and eccentric build up. The digitalization of this track can be felt from the first minute and we talk about the sonification of Root’s message through this particular piece. It reminds us of a playful xylophone paired with floor rhythms in a minimalistic entourage.

Taking the whole side B of this record, “Quantum Anomaly”, builds its surroundings in distorted ways and more specific – bleeps and stretched alien-ish pads that wrap in an out-of-room sonic voyage. The dynamics of Root and Parallax Deep are immaculate here, both putting under the spotlight their visions in a co-operative way. Speedy drums of Parallax’s are amiably confronting Root’s ghostly view on the melodic build-up.

The time has come for Suolo to revisit Aforisme’s shelves. Time passes and the outputs from the Bucharest-based artist are achieving a league of its own, with Echilibru EP being another chapter of the artist’s sonic adulthood. Keeping things simple: two efficient compositions, harmonised layers, out of sound experiences, all of them under the roof of a distinct and appealing idea. 

EP named track - Echilibru - outsets gradually and its elements sink in the most subtle ways. They don’t go too far from what the usual Suolo would bring to your ears, yet every piece that comes from him is particular in its own way. All of them together are just pages of a bigger book. With a bass that dominant, a lead pad lurking between the low and high, some casual yet organised whispers, Echilibru epitomises a very danceable melancholy. The unison of everything mentioned above lets us explore beyond the initially set limits as more time you spend listening, farther it takes you into the world of abundant emotions. 

Safe to admit that if you take the drums out of Suolo’s tracks, they become adventurous movie soundtracks. That’s exactly what happens during Pyunik, not only would it be adventurous without drums but also incinerates a state of internal wandering. While both the artist and listener are looking for paths during the process of composition/audition, they cross very often on the B side of this record. The elements are all from Suolo’s list of usual suspects, yet Pyunik is the proof of his mastery at recycling the so familiar sounds into new states and emotional rollercoasters. B side is about the entourage created around the deeply ingrained kick. Heavy and competent. 

Would it suit a packed floor at 4am or an empty room audition in an intimate setting? We truly believe that Echilibru EP could fit both with zero back-thoughts. It’s full of energy and it gives you the full control on how to handle it.
