Dutch powerhouse Helsloot returns to Get Physical a year after his last outing with bold new single ‘Take Care.’

Thomas Helsoot is a revered underground presence with a famously melodic electronic sound that has taken him to labels like Poesie Musik, Domino, Astralwerks and Lane 8’s This Never Happened. He spent the first decade of his career working behind the scenes for artists like Diplo but has now fully established his own style. Hits of his like ‘Because You Move Me’ have clocked up over 300 million plays on Spotify alone and he shows his fine mix of introspective and futuristic moods again here.

‘Take Care’ is a sublime deep house cut with cavernous bass that sweeps you up from below. The spacious arrangement is brought to life with elegant melodic sequences that ripple out into the cosmic skies and build tension before the drums roll once more. An extended mix makes for an even more escapist listen.

Fun projects need to be shared. In this case I like to give away my newest fun project - I did in my free time. Hashtag is a combination of five elements in one track. With the focus on a snare drum roll, a upward pitching part, a melody, a fat baseline and acid elements. Acid in that case means, crazy sounds in a groovy beat. Hope you like it - have fun.

Every perfect story begins with a proper introduction that sets you in the right mood, and ends with the kind of twist that leaves you there to think. This is also the case with Costantino Nappi and Dj Micky Da Funk's powerful 'Tears Of Crocodile EP'. Both tracks in this release share the same features: high energy, powerful cymbals and persuading synths. These elements, used at the right timing and with the perfect harmony, are the best recipe for a natural Adrenalin injection for those moving on the dance floor. However, each track tells a different story. While 'Tears Of Crocodile' is a scary, disturbing, tension loaded fairytale, 'Parthenope' is a rhythmic dance between Synthesizers and drums. Spanish label Sincopat calls on Avantroots and Seven Villas founder Pablo Boliver to remix on the latest release on the imprint, reworking a track from the recent Piek LP. Barcelona-based producer Boliver puts his magic touch to 'That's Me', which features the vocal tones of Jim Hast.

Speaking with When We Dip, Pablo explained "Nacho (Piek) sent me his upcoming album around a year ago, I was really impressed, listening it on heavy rotation: the production, the voices...impeccable. Some months ago he asked me to do a remix of one of the tracks, "no doubt bro, it's a pleasure". I love to remix tracks that have an important vocal work, and Jim Hast does so on "THAT’S ME’, I enjoyed every second working on this remix!"

Hommage is the record label of Monkey Safari and Karl Friedrich. Founded in 2013, Hommage has been a platform for independent releases, with a focus on synergies between like-mined artists. 

The next Hommage release comes from Avidus, an up-and-coming duo from Kiel, Germany, consisting of Fritz Wagner and Marc Wolf. While Fritz was working on his own music, Marc was busy djing and throwing parties, inviting the likes of Âme, Marcus Worgull, and Roman Flügel. At some point their paths crossed and Avidus was born. The two brothers from Halle, Monkey Safari, subjoin a mighty, propellant remix of Revenge of the Whales' that will certainly create a fire on the dancefloor. 

Marino Canal has carved his own staple sound in the techno scene through a stream of solid releases. His productions are best described as organic, hypnotic and melancholic, so is his beautiful remix of Ruins'.
