Topic and Guests: As we commence Women's History Month, Amara Evering radio journalist, writer, and storyteller shares different women’s life stories and experiences in their own voices.  Using her podcast “For Ama” Amara Evering explores the topic of healing through different women’s life stories and experiences. The series addresses the topic of healing through various life stories, from elders to young women and women from different economic and cultural backgrounds.  The series is produced by Amara Evering and Armand Jennings (U.S producer) and Chris Wayne (in Namibia).  The narrator is Lahja Haufiku.

Amara Evering is a radio journalist, writer, and storyteller. She’s been recognized for her coverage of reparations programs, Black international struggles, and the experiences of Black women and girls. She interviewed legendary poet Sonia Sanchez along with a host of prominent activists, scholars, and writers. Her writings about gentrification were featured in The Contemporary magazine, among other publications.  She has worked as a producer and writer for WPFW FM news department and is the current recipient of the Alice Rowan Swanson Fellowship.
