Afrikan Kartel is a dynamic Hip-Hop Reggae Duo based out of NYC - ATL which consists of members "Image I" aka "Mr. Prendi" & S.Dot aka "Disciple of Trinity". Introduced while in school, the two immediately began writing and recording at the same studio. With both members coming from a strong Caribbean background and early exposure to the Hip-Hop culture. The two decided to root together and started collaborating eventually forming Afrikan Kartel. With melodic force driven lyrics, cemented over hard hitting reggae baselines, Afrikan Kartel has created a sound for themselves which is no other way classified than universal. 
Some of their musical influences include Dennis Brown, Bob Marley and the Wailers, Garnet Silk, Tenor Saw, Harry Belafonte, The Fugees and the Wu- Tang Clan just to name a few. Early 2009 Afrikan Kartel was featured on the Royal Tribe reggae hip-hop collaboration album entitled “Regime Change.” It was there the duo gained rapid attention from local Atlanta promoters and event holders around the city. To name a few were committee board and organizers of Atlanta’s annual Sweet Auburn Festival. As well as A-Town Days founder committee spokes person and organizer Brian Glasper. 
In 2010 Afrikan Kartel paired with producer/ song writer Evon Buchanan a.k.a Ras Kaya to form Shanty Life Music Productions. From there the group completed a collection of works including a mix tape album entitled “Trinity” with a variation of singles to follow. One entitled “Blood Red” which gained overseas recognition throughout France and presented an opportunity of having 5,000 copies pressed and distributed to various record distributors. Allowing the group to broaden their international market and fan base to not just only to the Caribbean and U.S. soil but other European audiences.
Since then the group has released numerous singles & their first 2015 project entitled “Struggle Muzik the E.P.” Which is a five song pre release prelude of the yet to come album called “Culture Shock.” With a sound that ranges from hardcore dancehall reggae baselines to upbeat summery tracks like "Flashy Lights" which is a feel of Reggae, Calypso with a shimmery Salsa twist. Afrikan Kartel has performed at various outdoor festivals and stage shows including "2016", "2017", & "2018" Go Africa Festival.
