Guards scurried sullenly through the crowd, trying to learn the circumstances of such a large-scale event. Corporal Graves, the grey cardinal and the former head of the security service, was notorious for being a rare crook in search of profit. It was he who helped organise the fake trades. The fierce struggle for rare lots forced the participants to accept the only choice, but even a disguise and the total sold-out could not save the accomplices from imprisonment.

French producers DJ Deep and Traumer pair up for their debut on Radio Slave’s Rekids.  A key component in Parisian techno since the ‘90s, DJ Deep’s influence is indisputable whether it’s helming Deeply Rooted House Records, launching his own rotary DJ mixer series or his numerous appearances on Tresor Records alongside GETTRAUM founder Roman Poncet, who appears on this release as Traumer.   ‘La Valle La B’ comes in three forms. Finally ‘La Spicy Mix’ here concludes the package with a focus on piercing synths and a compelling groove.  ‘La Valle La B’ drops on 1st July 2016

100% Silk are releasing Silk to Dry the Tears, a 31 track compilation commemorating those lost in the tragic Ghost Ship fire in Oakland just over a year ago. Half of the profits are being donated to an organization called Safer DIY Spaces that emerged in the wake of the disaster. They “offer confidential guidance, financial assistance, and labor to the frequently vulnerable members of the Bay Area’s communities who live and/or work in non-traditional «DIY» spaces.”

Bolting Bits is more than happy to help support the cause by promoting the compilation and premiering the first track on it from Birmingham-based The Cyclist entitled The City Hangover. 

An emotional piece at its core, it starts off on a bittersweet note with warm yet brooding pads and a synth melody that opens up as it progresses until it climaxes and mutes to a lighthearted arpeggiated pattern. Meanwhile, atmospheric noise brings up the tension as the various percussion instruments build the rhythm to a second, more rhythmical apex. The song fits as an appropriate metaphor to the tragedy at hand, melancholic after the loss yet building positivity as time goes on through the community efforts made to help those affected and others who may find themselves in tough situations.

Punks are back! After a stunning debut in 2017 these guys are returning with new material. This record was influenced by the latest events connected with governmental issues with Russian club culture - raids, shutdowns of clubs and major festivals. Damage was inflicted on our beloved clubs and festivals such as Outline, Arma17, Rabitza. We admire our neighbors who fought for their houses and managed to protect them: Ukrainian Closer, British Fabric and Georgian Bassiani. 

This is a message about a sincere wish to save equality and independence. There’s no place for political games in our cultural life. Only freedom matters.

“Baby T is an alias that I am breathing new life into. Originally, my name was Baby Traits (as in baby “features” — I was 18 when I started touring in North America) and as I began to get more DJ bookings within the jungle community, I abbreviated Baby to B so that the name was more androgynous, to prevent the unnecessary attention and bad-mouthing I got whenever people found out I was female.

In a sense, it’s a reclamation of my original alias—I played faster back then: hardcore, drum & bass and jungle—and that’s where I’m going back to with Baby T, but this time I’m not 18, and I have zero fucks to give.

I’ve always been a shapeshifter as B.Traits but sometimes eclecticism can be confusing. I feel I need another outlet to create music that has no specific expectations. I want to get back to my jungle roots properly.”

The Portra EP contains 3 versions of the title track by Baby T – Hybrid, Ambient, and Jungle, spreading across tempo’s (and no tempo) to showcase styles Baby T will touch on. It’s a confident debut – a sonic summary of the Baby T path. To compliment these versions, Homemade Weapons and Ancestral Voices have contributed remixes that reinterpret Portra through their visionary processes, with impeccable results from both artists.
