Master of the tree..

This is an orchestrated version of Temple of Time from Zelda Ocarina of Time.  I'd never paid much attention to the Zelda music until recently. I wish I had gotten into it much earlier as there's so many good pieces of music hidden behind 8bit blips and blops.

Anyways - the choir. Meh, I am a bit of a perfectionist so I'm never ultimately happy, but they were a nightmare to work on with this. Hopefully they sound ok to everyone.

One Sleepless Night

I performed seven different versions of the track "A new born", sung by Oddrun Eikli. Among them, this is the first and original. Made for orchestra. The main idea was to express happiness musically involved in parenthood. It is a somewhat empty track elements, no doubt, but I wanted to share with you as the first demo of "A new born".

The Passage

Week 13 is kind of a punt. I didn't have a lot of time to work on music or actually produce a track this week, so instead I decided to go the entirely opposite direction and just improvise on my acoustic for a little bit. 

Added a little bit of reverb and compression, otherwise it's just as it came off the mic. Nothing too fancy; if nothing else, it's a change of pace from the more heavily produced stuff.

I wanted a powerful low brass as well as a nice ostinato for this piece, so that's what I tried! This has a somewhat dark feel. Enjoy!

Dirk Maassen - Like The Wind

I'm composing and producing an album titled "Clairvoyant: Music inspired by video games". For me, video games are the most inspiring medium of my generation. This album will be my own musical interpretation of a number of games and franchises that inspired me. 

Each track will be titled based on the game that inspired it. This one in particular is a homage to SciFi action games, which will be named once the full list of tracks is available.
