Led by the charismatic Vieux Aliou Cissokho, Afronesia is a world music band heavily influenced by traditional African music from Vieux’s homeland Senegal, as well as Afro-Funk, Latin & Reggae music. Vieux plays a beautiful instrument called a ‘Kora’ and his lyrics speak of Senegalese Folk tales and every day life. The band also includes Percussion, Drums, Bass, Violin, Balafon and backing vocals.

Afronesia's first album (Tama Silo-The Journey) released in November 2012 and the lyrics speak of Senegalese,Indonesian,French and English with the globally popular styles:Afro-Funk,Latin,Jazz and much more.Afronesia was created by the founding members of Hamanah Drum & Dance (Sarah & Catur).
