Kiko Navarro's Afroterraneo imprint proudly presents the first in a new series of releases, inviting a diverse group of electronic artists to remix the work of Brazilian percussionist, vocalist and composer Dudu Tucci.

Soul-stirring, percussion-led track 'Luana' is taken from Tucci's 2004 album 'Inaê - Impressions From Brazil'. Hotly tipped Moroccan producer Cee ElAssaad delivers not one, but three gorgeous reworks of 'Luana'. The 'Voodoo Mix' blends haunting synth melodies and heavy electronic percussion with Tucci's rolling live drums and subtle melodies to create a heady musical brew. His 'Acid Mix', as you might expect, weaves classic 303 bass in and out of a straight-up 4x4 groove. Finally ElAssaad's 'Cosmic Mix' brings a lighter, airier touch and some dubby elements into play.

About Dudu Tucci:
Eduardo Tucci da Silva, aka Dudu Tucci, started playing drums as a child his hometown of São Paulo. Having joined the local symphony orchestra in 1978 and collaborated with Brazilian legend Arrigo Barnabé soon after, Tucci was invited to perform at JazzFest in Berlin, and has resided there ever since.

Milestones! Throughout Ibadan Records’ illustrious 27-year history and its ongoing transcendent surge into the future, there are certain milestones to acknowledge. This brings us to our 150th release by Ibadan’s intern turned A&R, Janne Tavi (@jannetavi).

“BADLANDS” is an ode to the next generation. Named after Janne Tavi’s London radio show, focusing on the next generation. Badlands, the release, is a gripping track infused with tribal influences, exemplifying Ibadan’s raw influence on Janne Tavi’s diverse musical skills.

On the remix, we have one of the brightest new stars in Afro House, Morocco’s Cee ElAssaad (@ceeelassaad), flipping the original and turning it into Afro-House bliss.

IRC150 - Janne Tavi - Badlands (incl. Cee ElAssaad Remixes) [Teaser]

Following this year’s Felabration celebrations, DJ Said, the founder of Fatsouls Records, teams up with Morocco’s extraordinary Cee EIAssaad to create a potent dedication to Fela Kuti, the omnipresent Nigerian musician. Our music today owes a great deal to Fela as an influence. To that purpose, we give a tribute by utilizing his impact.

This first installment of a two-part release is a scorching single with two mixes. All to the components of this composition, including the horns, synth, and vocals, work together to keep the groove alive. The rhythm echoes the uplifting mood of spoken words and modern Afro house. Look for the Part Two vinyl cut in the first few months of 2023.
This release will effortlessly “ignite our mind and soul with inspiration.”

Thandi Draai, a leading lady in the Afro house scene, has made her mark through her influential radio show in South Africa, her numerous great singles and compilations for Get Physical, and her work on this pivotal label. She is a DJ, producer, and vocalist who is shaping the global Afro sound. She collaborates once again with fellow scene figurehead Cee ElAssaad, a chart-topping artist known for his versatility and celebrated for his collaborations with artists like Antonio Ocasia and Janne Tavi. 

The magnificent 'Ashambeni' is an almost eight-minute journey into deeply captivating drums and soul-stirring synth craft. The bright sequences loop and rise up through the mix while the spine-tingling vocals are rousing and empowering over organic percussion and moving bass that will sweep up the dance floor.

Kiko Navarro's international Afroterraneo Music label continues to cross borders with its latest release: a sublime new remix of Hong Kong's DJ Fudge's 'Introspection', originally released two years ago. Moroccan producer Cee ElAssaad provides this gorgeous reinterpretation, serving up a melange of light afro rhythms, expansive piano motifs and generally positive vibes that would fit right into a Lil Louis Vega set.
