After a little summer break it is about time to reanimate our podcast series and serve you again with some cozy music for your home comforts. With slowly getting into winter mood we’re happy to share with you the perfect soundtrack for snuggling into the most comfy spot on the couch, made by no other than our all-time inspirer Matti aka @mattmosphere, master of chill mixtapes and connaisseur of the unconventional. He presents us an eclectic and soul soothing selection of tunes somewhere between Ambient, Balearic and Vaporwave. Calming genres that combine gentle instrumentation here and there with bird chirping, water dribble, wind noises and fire crackling - music made by lush nature that carries us back to the sunny days. Arising from some beautifully nostalgic reconnections you indeed feel his dedication to the abundance of a lush island, as Matti mentioned the „Schlaraffenland“, the land of milk an honey, a place that allows you to sit back, relax and float. We gladly follow that recommendation and invite you to celebrate slowliness and ease with us on this first day of December, which is also the day Matti was born! I wasn’t going to put this one out before, but since it turned out to be the last proper rave in the legendary Bucht, since dancing in clubs is now prohibited in Berlin, since it's Christmas time, and since life isn’t perfect, here it is anyway. Another journey through the genres that I hope it can serve to elevate your celebrations and merriment for life. Wishing you all a fantastic end to this 2021, and we keep on dancing ourselves into new beginnings.

We meet with unusual events this year, be it a haze in winter, or more like a late snowfall in spring. We are so happy to host our next mixtape by our dear friend Mattmosphere.

In the past we know Matt for his special sound and way of playing music. Based mainly on ambient and experimental atmospheres. Today he has given us an extraordinary set that represents the sound that is usually directed towards clubs and dancefloors, perhaps as a celebration of having them back after a long wait. Us being big fans of minimal and house, could not feel a better fit.

We all know this moment - you are lying in bed with a loved one and the world stands still.

You put on some music to set the scene for rising temperatures under the sheets…

The set you put on suddenly brings you out of rhythm, but getting up to skip the track is no longer an option.

We have been scouting for the perfect sunday morning sets for quite a while already and @Mattmosphere has been a steady supplier of them for us. So we asked him and his partner Adriana to record one hour of music together, to which they like to stay in bed with.

It's an intimate ask, but they said yes and this beauty of a set is the result. 

Mattmosphere selected half the tracks and adriana aka @amapola-sounds selected the other half and sang her own beautiful lyrics ( see below), their good friend @morgen_musik recorded them and the result is something magical:

Getragen und eingehüllt in wohlig, warme Melodien, driften wir hinein in die klare dunkle Nacht. Im Rahmen unserer Aktion Schöne-Festival-Empfehlung 2017 präsentieren wir euch heute eine traumhafte Afterhour unseres lieben Freundes Matti aka Mattmosphere für das bezaubernde Mit-Dir-Festival.
 
Matti hatte uns vor einem halben Jahr auf das Mit-Dir-Festival aufmerksam gemacht und auch den Kontakt hergestellt - daraus ist auch gleich eine super Verbindung entstanden … nochmals Merci an dieser Stelle.

Das Mit-Dir findet in diesem Jahr vom 28. - 31. Juli 100 km südöstlich von Berlin in Klingemühle statt. Viel mehr als 1000 Besucher werden es nicht. Also kann man sich auf ein familiäres Festival umgeben von Wiesen, Wäldern und Seen freuen. Neben dem Mainfloor auf dem es ein wenig knackiger zur Sache geht, gibt es den kleineren entspannten “Mühlenfloor” auf dem vorwiegend entschleunigte elektronische Musik gespielt wir, quasi Mattis Spezialität und damit auch seine Bühne für dieses Jahr.

Es ist ein gutes Jahr her als uns Mattmosphere über den Weg bzw. über die Ohren gelaufen ist. In diesem einem Jahr ist viel passiert. Mit zahlreichen Podcasts für Gedankenklang e.V., elektroaktivisten, oder Fabelwesen unterstreicht Matt seine Liebe zur Musik. Bei jedem seiner Podcasts setzt sich Matt sowohl mit der Podcast-Reihe als auch mit sich selbst auseinander und schafft es immer wieder eine runde Geschichte mit diesem gewissen unbeschreiblich tollen roten Faden zu erzählen.
 
Aus Berlin ist Matt eigentlich nicht mehr wegzudenken. Überall da wo wunderschöne Partys entstehen ist er anzutreffen, ob als Musikgestalter oder als Gast. Seine Familie ist unter anderem das Sound-Kollektiv Drosssel, sein kleines Kollektiv Akasha und auch mit dem Party-Kollektiv Ram Schakl ist er mehr als nur freundschaftlich verbunden. 
 
Was schreibt Matti über sich selbst?
 
„What I love is to create a unique atmosphere,“ Matti says. „Ideally, you find yourself in a deeply relaxed vibe you didn’t even know you were ready for. I want to be your musical companion and helper for any emotional state you might be in.“
 
Dem ist eigentlich nichts mehr hinzuzufügen --- außer danke lieber Matti für deine umwerfend schöne Festival-Interpretation von Afterhour Sounds … wir sind überwältigt. @Mattmosphere and Love Foundation that is a love affair that has been going on for a while. It all started with a romantic weekend in Vienna beginning 2018, sparks were flying and a second weekend getaway was planned together. This time outside and in the slightly smaller mountains of the Netherlands, in Limburg.

After that it was clear that both parties are ready for the next step and a fusion of the @drosssel and Love Foundation family with a 48 hour rave weekend in Mensch Meier in Berlin, was the logical conclusion in summer 2019.

Now we are limited to online dating, but Matt knows how to play that game as well and the set that he recorded for us, hits us right in the heart. Be ready for an hour full of emotions and a special kind of journey that only Matt knows how to take you on. 

We love you Matt and we look already forward to the next gathering in real life together.

Afterhour Sounds is since his begining in 2012 a crew of music lovers, music makers and music supporters. What started as an small idea developed over the years into an important institution in the field of electronic dance in and beyond germany. Our goal was and still is to enrich the world with different interpretations of the afterhour. 

In the beginning, we focused our passion on finding and supporting (un)known artists through blog posts, reposts and podcast contributions. Gradually, we expanded our sections to include live recordings and premieres. In-house releases and events were not long in coming. The crew changed, but the passion and spirit remained.
