Hymogwai by Shrumate consists of 2 originals Didinga and Hymogwai with stellar remixes by some amazing beings, please enjoy this cute mushroom trip :))
Dindinga is an EP that translates into an intimate need of normality through these lockdown vibes.
It consists in two tracks with two distinct dance floors in mind.
One for the body and the other one for the spirit.
The track “Dindinga” is a proper fire starter that combines an Afro groove with Synth-Pop and features a bunch of different elements like brazilian favela funk percussions along with some crazy cool synth and Marimba lines and also a finger lickin’ bass that turns everyone on.
The other track “Hymogwai” goes for a more spiritual approach with a slower tempo, a deeper bassline and more obscure and psychedelic elements. Nevertheless, it is still signing up for a dance floor pleasing

Kalokairi takes you into a journey of the three phases of love based on Greek literature and philosophy. The first phase, Eros, describes the initial passion and physical attraction between two individuals. It is the first impression of either a relationship, or in this case, a musical art form. The second phase, Philia, talks about conditional love, the aspect of a relationship in which one’s attraction is dependent on receiving something from the other person involved in it. This mid phase offers the listener something more than just an initial attraction; it engages and creates a compromise that will lead you into the third and final phase of love; Agape. Ultimately, Agape is the phase we all long for, unconditional love. This is the phase that best describes what an artist expects from an audience. It is not the superficial emotions that could come along with electronic music in some cases, but the unconditional passion for rhythm and melody that fuels an artist's mind into creating the next experience for his or her audience.

This project was really enjoyable to work on because Hugh Pascall provided some amazing live instrumental parts with the trumpet and organ playing, which I caught a vibe from straight away and ran with to try make something a bit more in the techno/house space than the original, but still very much keeping the original idea.

I heartedly recommend checking out the originals on this release, they're awesome, full of character and soul, and are being released on vinyl only, with 300 hand stamped and numbered copies....some exclusive business!...a different way of doing things by DSCNCTD records than my usual.

San Miguel is known for his heart opening, deep & gentle productions. He loves the absence of things in order to unfold & experience himself once again in previously unknown facetts. In Rose Golden Bubbles he has filled the composition warmly, solidly & instrumentally. Peaceful, discreet and yet full of meaning with a clear message.

With the two remix acts Sangeet and Estray the story fullfills it's individual entirety. Sangeet is constantly hitting the nerve of the time with his recognizable style of clear grooves and an acid-heavy foundation that comes artistically to the fore. Like San Miguel, Estray is musically unpredictable and takes us on a journey in two versions. With a clear, dreamy & nature-loving, organic atmosphere he leds us towards Gaia's home.

In the beginning, we focused on finding and supporting (un)known artists through blog posts, reposts and podcast contributions. Gradually, we expanded our sections to include live recordings and premieres. In-house releases and events were not long in coming.
