Between some intense FIFA sessions and Jackson's new beach-libertine way of living, @thomassjackson and @theusmago found some time to make a bit of new music.

Live jamming at the beginning and then, in pandemic times via the world wide web, they managed to finish 4 tracks that are a showcase of all the things they like, hate and a bit more. After brilliant appearances on Correspondant, Futureboogie and Duro, Hard Fist is happy to welcome the first collaborative EP of those two major artists from the Mexican psychedelic contemporary scene.

Thomass Jackson & Theus Mago - El Venao [Hard Fist]

Valen González a DJ, multi-instrumentalist musician, producer and live performer born in the city of Mar del Plata, Argentina, lands on Feinstoff's free DL series with banger "Decimort".

His musical versatility when it comes to performing live and producing his tracks is seen in the variety of genres covered ranging from Progressive House, Deep House, Melodic Techno, Indie Dance and Dark Disco.

His interest in music was born from a very early age. Starting to play when he was 14 years old, although his speciality is the guitar, he also knows how to play Bass, Piano and Saxophone.

Already at 16, he began to produce his own independent music with themes of Blues, Rock, Funk and Pop. At 19 he began to train professionally in the field of electronic music production. To date, he has released on major labels such as Magnitude Rec, Aboriginal, One of a Kind, 3rd Avenue, Pro B Tech, Skytop and Rewinders.
He has also shared the stage with great artists such as David Hohme, John Cosani, Paul Deep, Facundo Mohrr, NAHS, Kabi, Sebastián Busto, Maxi Degrassi, among others.

He appeared on the line ups of the best clubs in Mar Del Plata (Stadium, Only Club, La Caseta, Zwan, Quba, Roomie) as well as in Buenos Aires at Bahrein club. Meanwhile, his tracks have received positive feedback from elite artists such as Nick Warren, Far&High, Paul Hazendonk, Francesco Pico, Matan Caspi, Brent Lawson, Cream and others.

There were some unconfirmed, but very plausible reports of sightings of a crashed U.F.O. in or around Bogota, Colombia. And indeed, all the orchestrated government cover-ups in the world couldn’t make us believe that there isn’t a duo of weirdly Scandinavian-looking aliens strolling around that area. But, alas, they seem to be of the friendly, if trippy, kind.
What they seem to be mostly interested in, is handing out 808 space cakes and inquiring about nearby raves, absorbing influences of the indigenous culture on their path. First-hand reporters claim to having gone on extensive ayahuasca trips with them and binging hard on empanadas afterwards. So yeah, seems like nothing to worry here, they come in peace and bring the trippy shit!

We are premiering the final remix for the EP that comes from Boys' Shorts for 'Eros Anikate' feat. Greek new wave legend Lena Platonos. The Greek DJ and producer duo had been friends for over a decade and spent endless hours on the decks together DJing around Greece and Europe before deciding to form their project and share their love for electronic music. Their music is a blend of everything they mix in their DJ sets, from disco to breaks, slow techno to acid, with the sole aim of making people dance. Having previously released their hit ‘New Era’ EP via the Iptamenos Discos imprint, the duo return for their remix of 'Eros Anikate feat. Lena Platonos', speeding up the track and adding driving synth sequences and groovy rhythms for a fun and vibrant remix.

Some artists are so uneasy with their craft that they need to create various aliases in order to express themselves in a more organized way. It’s like if they are pigeonholing their output in an attempt to make things easier to their fans/followers. GATS – also known as Changa Boys, ghostandthesong, Voltags, Solarbaby, Lagoon, and Gates – is one of those restless souls. Using the latter aforementioned nom de guerre, makes his debut on the mighty British label NEIN Records with an interesting journey through his Indie Dance/Dark Disco take. “All Gates Are Open”, expertly mastered by K-Effect (SXDNS062), presents itself through four creative originals and a robust remix by Cafius, the mastermind behind the track we were solicited to premiere.

While the original delivers a sort of frolic and upbeat aura, Cafius’s remix goes through a different path. For his interpretation, the Ukrainian producer aimed at the dance floor by increasing not only the BPM (from 113 to 122) but also the dosage of acid and minimalism. The result is an efficient and darkness-infused cut that has the potential to be in the case (aka repertoire) of DJs and selectors for quite some time during the 2023 season.
