Today, Pride Month extends across all of LGBTIQ and honours the community’s impact on the world. In electronic music in particular, LGBTIQ artists, promoters, and party-goers have profoundly shaped the scene for decades. To us, it is a beacon of diversity, inclusion, and Pride.

In this spirit, DESSERT wants to give something back: queer artist CENKK’s remix of Rui da Silva’s 90s Trance classic ‘Touch Me’ encapsulates the ecstasy of the golden age of Techno in a stripped, modern framework. Super Sapiens, the new label venture from Luca Saporito (Audiofly) preps a bumper package for its latest release. The trio of Nick Warren, Landikhan and IV-IN deliver an arresting single on their collaborative track ‘In The Dark’. A strong cast of remixers are lined up, with reworkings courtesy of Gorje Hewek, Kadosh & label boss Luca Saporito.

Tel Aviv-based DJ and producer Takiru delivers a vibrant, dancefloor-centric fusion of warmly evolving arpeggios and driving percussive groove structures for Kiosk ID no. 027. Continuing his pursuit of the most anthemic next thrill, Stil vor Talent head exec Oliver Koletzki returns to the label with a vengeance. Fusing reggaean vibrations with that new wavey techno sensibility of his (think Depeche Mode on a trip to Kingston, Jamaica), 'Finding Love' sees Koletzki exploring the frontier between downtempo Caribbean pop and a pure driving electro throb. 

Shifting gears between a proper broken techno backbone onto the further syncopated alphabet of low-slung dance hall vocals, 'Finding Love' alternates sequences of sheer vaporous oneirism with that of a fleet-footed bassy workout laced with splatters of 80s synth-pop, ready to set any dance floor ablaze and turn entire crowds of ravers upside down. Up on remix duty, Berlin-based French producer Temple Tears punches in with a distinctly stealth weapon for the darker hours of the night. All in sturdier bass curves and jacking punch, the track is bound to cut a path of destruction this summer with its untamed EBM horsepower and hard-nosed house bounce straight out the basement. A Janus-faced single, providing the DJs with two very different levels of club oomph and situational response.

The afterhour is more than just an extension of the night - it is a universe of its own full of quirky, heartfelt and often hilarious moments. It is the place where the music lives on, time stands still and the party community forges its strongest bonds - even if it is sometimes only perceived with half an open eye and a wry smile. 

Over 10 years we host our famous podcast series. Which started as an small idea of some Afterhour nerds developed over the years to something special for us ♥️

In the beginning, we focused on finding and supporting (un)known artists through blog posts, reposts and podcast contributions. Gradually, we expanded our sections to include live recordings and premieres. In-house releases and events were not long in coming.

CENKK is a multidisciplinary musician trained in opera and classical composition. His electronic productions incorporate his countertenor voice, creating a unique and captivating soundscape. Certainly one of the rising stars in the electronic music scene, he has been supported by the likes of Solomun, Adriatique, Âme, Toto Chiavetta, Henri Bergmann and many others. He has released on labels such as Multinotes, Borders of Light, and Automatik. Fans can expect some major releases from CENKK in the upcoming year, as he continues to push the boundaries of electronic music and explore new sonic territories.
