Beat & Path have spent two years nurturing talent, throwing their weight behind albums from Sanoi and The Oddness and tracking Uone and Western's treks into gold-rush territory. But it's been 28 months since their last VA release, and Camp Out 001 provides the variety that was set up in 2020's Winter Sampler.

There's an eclectic range of tempos and romp factor here; this compilation being as much about dancing under trees as lying in a fireside cuddle puddle while someone plays amateur astronomer. 

The compilation's midpoint is an undeniable stomper combining everything you could want from a Uone and Out of Sorts collab: shakers pulling you straight onto the dancefloor, tryptamine vocal processing, and an edgy spoken word snippet courtesy of the late Reverend Jim Jones. 'Ba Ba Ooh' plays to its collaborators' strengths, uniting Out of Sorts' grinding Teutonic production with Uone's jester mentality. The result is something that'll be damn-near irresistible at one in the morning.

➤ About this VA:
100 years ago the world lived in chaos. Huge wars between humans, as well as great advances in technology that changed forever the face of the world, a world that according to many artists, lived as a prisoner of the rational mind and that did not allow us humans to understand life and the Universe in its wide spectrum.

This is how, with its mystical origin in Dadaism, Surrealism was born. A movement that sought to explore and venture into the limits of the human mind through art. Initially literature, but also reaching the visual arts and so much more. Then decades later, the first psychedelic artists were born, much closer to music in its origins and who represented a rebellion against the established norms in the face of a world in chaos...

Making this compilation was a leap into the void, a mixture of psychic automatism and cadavre exquis (exquisite corpse) that ended with a very free, authentic and very fresh result, with the wonder of the unexpected, including very purely electronic songs, with ideas of techno and even psy trance, like other more tropical ones with psychedelic cumbia, of course others more pop and the others, those that are usually there in our music, the ones totally trippy.

We hope you enjoy this great compilation full of freedom and unusual ideas, which will help you connect with another world through music, rhythm and love, thank you eternally!

With his new album ON THE FLY, JPattersson takes off on the first balmy breeze of spring: Bright trumpet fanfares and shimmering synthesizer sounds carry him away from his balcony into airy heights, over wild landscapes, until eventually arriving in dreamlike galaxies. ON THE FLY captures these small special moments of JPatterssons ongoing big journey. Therefore, it’s sometimes his warm voice that sets the mood, and then again, it's these longing trumpet melodies that stretch like colorful sails between his inner world and a generously shared euphoria. What tugs passionately at the soul becomes liberatingly light in the next song and dissolves into laughter. It’s in fact his great versatility, where JPattersson finds the contagious enthusiasm and hope that emanates from the entire album. Six of the eight tracks are built on fluffy techno beat clouds, and there it's simply wonderful to dance. The other songs move experimentally between Reggae and Trip Hop. Afterhour Sounds is since his begining in 2012 a crew of music lovers, music makers and music supporters. What started as an small idea developed over the years into an important institution in the field of electronic dance in and beyond germany. Our goal was and still is to enrich the world with different interpretations of the afterhour. 

In the beginning, we focused our passion on finding and supporting (un)known artists through blog posts, reposts and podcast contributions. Gradually, we expanded our sections to include live recordings and premieres. In-house releases and events were not long in coming. The crew changed, but the passion and spirit remained.
