With „Solarplex“ Matthias Schuell presents a dark and energetic club track with a memorable hook on Ritter Butzke Studio that has the potential to leave marks on international dance floors. Dahu interprets this massive track with a more rhythmic and bassy notion and sets the melody as a percussive element. Baime approaches the track more avantgarde with screaming synth sounds and a pitch distorted melody.


The second track “Walpurgis Night” lives up to it's name. The arrhythmic and driving percussions find their finale in a huge break with accelerating pizzicatos that mimic the lift off of a witch on a broom. It is almost unbelievable but @katermukke's 200th release is knocking on the front door. In the past eight years we were 200 times taken by the hand and sent on a musical journey. For 200 times did big artists, small artists, newcomers and old stagers find together at this musical hotspot. In that time of 200 releases did not only faces, looks and sound carrier change but also the Sound of Katermukke adapted to the times. Still did the musical quality always stay constant. The affectionate curation of label boss @dirtydoering did accompany us through many changes and phases of life, but never failed to delight us. Therefore did he not miss out to team up with a close friend and talented musician to create the jubilee release. @einmusik and Dirty Doering did so with "Centaurio" to write a subtlety developing piece, which conveys a dreamy character in combination with a touch of rave. "Athene" by Einmusik is heavy and convoluted Techno, that goes pretty deep via a kind of 70s scifi synth line. Finally did the boss solely get into it to revive ancient myths with his track "Herakles" via a pithily bassline and atmospheric but mysterious Vocals. After such an astonishing EP there is only left to wait and see what comes with the next 200 releases.

trndmsk: What inspired you to produce the track?

Dirty Doering: We started working with new plug in. It looks like a Commodore c64.

Where did you record it? And how?

We worked at the Einmusika studio in Kreuzberg. Some analog mamchines like moogsub 37 or roland tr-8s and with the software logic pro.

How did the collaboration with Einmusik come about?

We are working for a long time together. After the cooperation for tracks "Lucid" and "Toyi Toyi", we did a new one. Keep going!

Its release number 200 on Katermukke. What does that do to you?

200 hundred release in the last 8 years. When i started with Katermukke, i’ve never expected to get so many releases on the label. I’m really happy with that.

If you look back: What were the most beautiful moments with Katermukke?

There were so many beautiful moments. A lot of showcase at Katerblau in Berlin and around the world. From New York, Turkey, South Africa, Egypt, Mexico, Libanon, Europe to Sydney. Too many for one special moment.

What’s up next after the release? What's next on Katermukke?

The next big thing is the album of Paji on Katermukke in December.

Are you working on any other projects?

I’m working on new tracks for 2020. Also some cooperations with Einmusik and Nicone. Be curious!

The first piece, "Empty Supply", owes its existence to a long nighttime session.
Sometimes there are nights like that where something is born from mixing pleasure, electronic gears and green leaves. The next day you wake up to find a story that you probably wouldn't be able to reproduce any other way.

"Continuous Trip", for its part, is a layering of identical sequences that loops and loops…

CIOZ has been kind enough to give us his own interpretation of "Continuous Trip". to which he brings his own unique touch, lifting us into his own personal world right from the first few seconds.

The 44th Chapter in this story sees the release of JOBE's My Regrets, featuring the haunting vocals of Haptic and a big Edition from label bosses VVerses.

As ever with JOBE, the EP is a powerful combination of darkness, melody and heft.

Title track My Regrets is true to form, built on a chunky, driving groove that opens into an expansive and euphoric vocal-led peak in which Haptic takes the lead, giving a performance that is typically haunting and emotional. The Dub Edition, meanwhile, offers a useful counterpoint that smooths out the highs of the original.

Up next, the VVerses Lessons Learned Edition is a blissful combination of new wave-influenced broken beat, delayed basslines and dripping acid. Haptic's vocal, transformed into an impersonal and heavily vocodered robotic presence, holds the track together as it culminates into choppy ravey chords that channel a Balearic feel.

Final track Luma is an ominous afro tech roller, big dusty drums encasing a central arp that ups the ante and is bound to make the dancefloor bounce. Interweaving synths relentlessly build the tension to a crescendo.
