The first remix takes flight under the skilled hands of Panthera Krause, who is based in Leipzig and co-label owner of fulfilment. His interoperation of the original features arpeggiated synths, detuned elements, and distorted percussion, creating an edgy, unpredictable atmosphere. Elevated bass guitar notes ground the track, while Krause injects a distinctive rawness, channeling the unapologetic spirit of punk rock. 

Colossio and Theus Mago join forces in the crafting of the second remix, both hailing from the vibrant music scene in Mexico. They embody the spirit of "Blade" in their remix for Sexy Lazer's "Midlife Crisis" infusing the track with the legendary 303 blending nostalgia with futuristic energy. Born in Mexico, now living in France, Leonor is a well received producer with a remarkable impact in the electronic scene releasing in labels such Feines Tier, My Favorite Robot to name a few.
He lands on Polaris with a beautiful Ep plenty of matisses, featuring a collaboration with the  French producer 'Iba Boo'.

The Ep kicks off with shimmering energy with the track ‘Yo Soy'. The Mexican artist sets the scene with a sprawling, spacey trip. With deep chugging and undulating guitars, it's a swampy, intense road trip... with no way home.

We continue with the track 'Cold', a magnificent piece in collaboration with the talented 'Iba Boo' where the chords of his Telecaster blend with the vocals where good vibrations and positive energy are omnipresent.

For the remix, French duo Damon Jee & Darlyn Vlys join forces to reinterpret their version of "Yo Soy", a poignant version destined to hit the dancefloor.
While , the German duo Peter Invasion & Gregor Habicht deliver their own version of 'Yo Soy', bringing their own acid and dark signature to the ep

For our 20th release on Discolypso - we are thrilled to share this amazing collection from Dombrance - complete with a series of Remixes from some of our closest collaborators!

Dombrance Explains:

For 5 years I’ve been using the names of politicians to create pieces of music. This formula has enabled me to create characters and give a fun visual identity to each song. I have been very lucky to work with the talented Olivier Laude in developing these graphics for my artwork and the animated visuals I use on stage.

It has been an honour to work alongside INA (The French National Audiovisual Institute) – who allowed me to dig deep into the French archives and create video pieces to go with my last album ‘Republique Electronique’. The pairing of retro footage from Paris in the 1960s – remixed alongside my music has worked really well at my shows!

For months now, I have been working on new productions, but I wanted to end this politician cycle in style with two songs….. the final bouquet

On the menu: ‘Copé’, who disappeared suddenly from circulation after publicly mistaking the price of a ‘pain au chocolat’!!

‘Bayrou’, another politician – who thought he finally came to power with Macron, but had to leave the government barely after entering it, indicted for embezzlement of public funds!

To accompany them, a completely crazy video, a first dive into live animation from the genius graphic designer Olivier Laude, animated by his friend Ulysse Lefort. They worked hours of labor, homemade with a burst of colours, humour, and a lot of love. A mix of French comics, American cinema, and Japanese manga.

In this new EP titled Double Trouble, there is also a string of remixes from legendary producers and the cream of current clubbing DJs.

'A few months back, while crate-digging at the record shop, I unearthed an 80s gem: Boytronic - You. Inspired by its vibe, I decided to craft a fresh edit, aiming to honor the track while getting closer to my own sound. After an impressive string of releases on Sinchi, NEIN, Mélopée, Weirdos among others, Munich-based vagabond Alemao drops his luggage for the first time on HIFI/LOFI, with an EP highlighting the variety of his skills and influences, ranging between psychedelic and heady Deep Indie Dance to overdriven Techno-Disco synth escapades, and beautifully closed by a remix from the master of cosmic explorations, el grande Rigopolar.

Having lived in Berlin, Paris, Hamburg & Barcelona among other cities, Alemao has been soaking up music in Europe’s most renowned house & techno clubs for more than a decade. He started gracing the face of the world with vibrating air molecules in Dublin in 2016 where he has not only earned his nickname ‘Alemao’ but also played regularly at Pygmalion, sharing bills with the likes of Âme, Jennifer Cardini or The Drifter.

Written & produced shortly after his daughter saw the light of day, the collection of tunes opens with Akyre, where Alemao takes us in a rather dark and stomping Italo territory, accompanied by a haunting voice (which is actually one of the most used vocal samples in history, but we’ll leave the mystery hanging there). 

On Spatzi, Alemao unfolds a headier side of his sound, where dizzying synth sequences flirt with overdriven guitar-like synths, before closing the round of originals with the eponymous ‘Paranoid Disco Dub’ - as the name suggests, a more experimental cut with references to Deep Dub-Techno & Psychedelia, where one could easily get lost dancing together with his own mind in the deep shadows of a dark and sweaty club.

Last but not least, Rigopolar also makes his first appearance on HIFI/LOFI by delivering a sublime and very filmic revision of Akyre, which makes us want to ask the universe if we could please have a combined sequel of Drive and Stranger Things coming out soon itohave his remix landing on the ending credits, someone please make it happen.

What started as an small idea developed over the years into an important institution in the field of electronic dance in and beyond germany.
