Afterhour Sounds

Time passes, and the people of Ukraine continue to suffer from the Russian war of aggression. We feel obliged not to watch this cruelty wordlessly and idly. The senseless violence emanating from Russia is condemned by us in the strongest possible terms.

With Pieces for Peace we want to show that we as a community are aware of the people in Ukraine and that their suffering is not unseen. But from this we also want to be able to contribute to the relief efforts. In order to use it efficiently, all the proceeds of the campaign will be donated to the International Committee of the Red Cross, which is tirelessly at work, whether in the humanitarian or diplomatic field.

The compilation will only be available for two weeks. After that, all collected proceeds from it will be donated to the ICRC.

All artists are offering their contribution to this EP without any financial compensation.

An image can be created with highly complex computer programmes or with the simplest of means. In the digital cosmos, each pixel can be configured exactly according to the artists ideas and wishes. In contrast, impressive works of art can also be created with natural materials such as stones, twigs or with coal. The ability to compose images is as complicated as it is simple. It depends on the artist and his creative intention. The Canvas remix by Just Emma & Urem is a little darker than the original version. Expressive percussions and analogue-sounding synths give the song a clubby makeover. Elements of the original track are used thoughtfully and in specific places. Among other things, the unique vocals are incorporated into the new composition. Overall, this remix is a successful addition to the original and presents another form of Canvas music. Armenian Duduk, Guitar, Piano, Oud, vocals and atmospheric synths meet deep bass, world percussion and field recordings, recorded on other continents. Music that tells and takes you on a journey. In his unique track "La Tua Verita" he not only combines a good portion of lightness with depth, but also sings in Italian for the first time. Afterhour Sounds is since his begining in 2012 a crew of music lovers, music makers and music supporters. What started as an small idea developed over the years into an important institution in the field of electronic dance in and beyond germany. Our goal was and still is to enrich the world with different interpretations of the afterhour. 

In the beginning, we focused our passion on finding and supporting (un)known artists through blog posts, reposts and podcast contributions. Gradually, we expanded our sections to include live recordings and premieres. In-house releases and events were not long in coming. The crew changed, but the passion and spirit remained.
