Marino first got our attention with a tune called ‚Can’t feel‘ a few years back. We played that track for ages, followed him since then and his music always found a way into our sets. Since we started the Siamese label he was always on the wish list to make a record for us and after his successful debut on the latest ‚Siamese Anthology‘ EP we can finally reveal a full EP from Marino Canal. 

The title track ‚A Fire In The Sun‘ has been a permanent tool for us since we got it. It is changing the mood especially in the first part of our sets, letting us go many directions after it. It‘s calm but powerful, emerges suddenly but then goes back to its steady groove.

‚Her Perfect Sky‘ is Adrian Schweizer‘s favourite and was featured in the recent and highly anticipated Cercle set we played right in the French Alps. It did fit perfectly to the surrounding and we really had the perfect sky that day. 

Next up is ‚White Atlas‘ which reminds us a bit of the minimal era. There have been a few tracks back then which had enormous depth and warmth and this one goes a bit into this direction, with a catchy but darkish melody. 

‚Distant Borders‘ marks the perfect finish for us, a nicely moody track that doesn’t try to steal the show but works in its own way.

Originally featured on Yotto’s debut album ‘Hyperfall’, ‘Turn It Around’ now gets its own single release featuring an extended mix and two outstanding remixes courtesy of German artists Monkey Safari and Ruede Hagelstein.

Monkey Safari add their trademark sunshine sheen to ‘Turn It Around’, flipping the dark soundscape of the original into an uplifting composition of sliding synths and bubbly arpeggios. Berlin producer Ruede Hagelstein builds on Yotto’s original brooding arrangement with his ‘Rise Again’ remix, incorporating mechanised vocoders atop a menacing bassline.

With Apir we are happy to introduce a new name, but yet a familiar producer behind this moniker. Tim Green has been around for quite some time now and just released his well received album on Cocoon Recordings last year.

While Tim Green’s sound is very melodic & playful, Apir has a much more stripped back approach, focused on a certain sound and direction. We felt this was the perfect follow up to our very own ‘X’ EP on Siamese.
‘Emphatic’ has the hallmarks of a Tim Green production, but develops differently than expected. It starts very laid back and the long intro prepares for what follows - a long build to the climax that drops without the typical fanfare or white noise sounds. Tight and snappy percussion kicks in and from here on the track is rolling, putting you in a hypnotic state of mind.

On the flip we find ‘Sync Assist’ taking up the tempo a notch. It’s a bit rougher, with a hint of electro without losing the melodic touch. Both tracks have been regulars in our sets for months now and it’s great to finally share this record with all of you.

We expect to hear more about Apir aka Tim Green in the future.
