Exploring this theme of journeying beyond our strict sense of self, label mates and friends Tale of Us and Mind Against have joined together once again to create a work that works, fittingly, well past the summation of it’s parts. Playing with tension and release and a restrained but expressive sonic palate that paints a picture without words, these accomplished artists from the Life and Death team bring us to a place that seems to surely exist. Even if we might not be able to pinpoint exactly where that is.

With the fourth Realm Of Consciousness compilation, Tale Of Us shine a light on the artists whose work has shaped their sets in recent times.
There are contributions from Afterlife’s longtime regulars like Recondite, Adriatique, Mind Against, Woo York and Vaal. 
From those who have come through the label in more recent times: Ae:ther, Mathame, Agents Of Time, Innellea, Fideles and Kevin De Vries. And, as always with the compilation, there are new faces: Colyn, Blausch, ANNA, ARTBAT, Coeus, Lyke, Murat Uncuoglu, Lehar & Aldebaran and ENØS.
The sound encompasses everything Afterlife represents: introspective electronica, euphoric peak-time cuts and more subtle rollers. Twenty inspired interpretations of the sound Tale Of Us have developed.

Alberth born in Foligno city in 1996.
At 14 years old he starts collecting and playing vinyls in private parties and local discos. At the same time he begins to produce electronic music and once finished high school he decides to move to Milan and enter the world of electronic music. His productions are usually deep, psychedelic and full of melodies.

After his latest releases on Steyoyoke he returns with an ep full of energy.

MoBlack Records start 2020 on a strong fitting with a new EP from Outcome, a Croatian talent with a melodic and dreamy sound already on labels like Blindfold Recordings, DNC and many more. Accompanied by a continuous journey through this new music, mixed by Tale Of Us, we hope this compilation brings some escape at a challenging time.

It is more important than ever that we stand together and do what we can to help our loved ones, our communities and humanity as a whole. It is a cause particularly close to the hearts of us all at Afterlife. 

Tale Of Us cover the full spectrum of Afterlife sounds, from stirring, sunrise epics and eyes-down techno to more inward-looking moments, individually expressing a collective vision. Crystalline melodies and emotive oscillations connect each work and form the strands which Tale Of Us weave into a momentous Voyage. From the opening tones of the label founders’ own track ‘Alone’, every turn flows further into the Realm Of Consciousness, an unbounded dimension which ends in light.

Woo York follow up their ‘Chasing The Dream’​ ​album with an EP of timeless, acid compositions.
‘Echoes From Beyond’ houses four of the Ukrainian duo’s signature productions. The infectious melody of the title track opens the release in show-stopping style before ‘Dancing With Sirens’ and ‘Minimalism’ take you deeper with triplet pulses, dense basslines and a cosmic atmosphere. ‘Epilogue’ is an eyes-closed epic to end the release on a high.

Atlant's relentless quest for emerging electronic talent sees us traverse the northern Swiss Plateau to Zürich for the rich innovative sounds of Soma Soul. To make this release something truly special we also summoned Afterlife mainstay / rising star Colyn and Atlant label owner BOg to each add their unique perspective to Soma Soul's two emotive originals.

Having already featured on last month's Atlant VOYAGER VA Soma Soul (Francesco Parla, Ralph Wirth) now take centre stage to build upon fine releases for Jonas Rathsman's ELEMENTS, Endangered and RADIANT. Both originals feature the beguiling vocals of the UK's Ed Begley.

The ambient intimate and unique textures of title track 'Complacency' really showcase what Soma Soul are all about. Cascading piano lines, cinematic sweeps and classy restraint really emphasise each softly sung lyric, with the sum of all parts creating wonderment and beauty.

For the remix we called on Colyn, fresh from his 'Concepts Of Love' EP for RÜFÜS DU SOL's Rose Avenue plus tracks on the mighty Afterlife UNITY and DGTL's latest VA. Colyn gives a remixing masterclass, using Ed's melancholic vocal as the foundation to craft layer upon layer of heart wrenching melodies as the pure emotion of 'Complacency' digs deep into your soul.

Fur Coat’s Oddity label starts 2021 with a fresh edition of the acclaimed various artists “Odd Echoes Vol.4”. This instalment showcases some artists that are already known to the label, as well as many new additions to the family.

Fur Coat’s commitment to their label over the last few years has seen the imprint amass a dedicated following and an ever growing list of respected and lauded releases. Utilising their Various Artists compilations, the duo have unearthed some extremely exciting talent in this world and given emerging artists a platform to exhibit their craft.

Diving into the package we are greeted with the melodic and emotional sounds that Oddity has their recognisable stamp. Its clear though that each artist involved has developed their own signature sound and presents something unique to the VA. The first half is formed of well crafted tracks which ease us into the sound. Tracks the build and develop over time and help to kick start out musical exploration.

In true Oddity style the second half of the package leans towards darker and more driving pieces. Casting the listeners mind to the dancefloors which the tracks were meant to be played on. Its a VA formed of 21 original tracks mostly from first timers on the label, that all together solidify the identity of the series and sound of Oddity.
