Beholden is an example of how simplicity can be used to create emotion and goosebumps. The tasty Moog synth and a hit of inspiration are the ingredients for the perfect less-is-more equation in this song.

Bloodflame which gives its name to the release is another addictive track that you are sure to enjoy in your sets, with its fantastically resonant and rough synthesizers. It’s a densely populated and over saturated market place, where it’s becoming increasingly difficult to cut through the noise and stand out from the crowd. Unless that is, you know a thing or two about making a name for yourself. 

Step forward Dave Seaman & Steve Parry, Acid house lifers with decades of experience between them who 6 years ago decided to join forces and  embark on another chapter in their illustrious careers by setting up independent label, Selador Recordings. Together they have carved out a reputation as providers of the finest in Melodic House & Techno and many of the subtle shades in between. They stubbornly refuse to be constricted to the kind of niche genre policy many of today’s labels seem to adopt and it’s a formula that has served them well, attracting some of the best producers in the business to rally behind the Seladorian battle cry. 

As the imprint reaches its 100th release, by way of celebration, Dave & Steve have assembled a crack team of producers to tackle a handful of the label’s landmark back catalogue that had not been previously remixed. Until now! Calling on André Hommen, D-Nox & Beckers, Doc Martin, Kotelett & Zadak, Moonwalk and Petar Dundov to reinterpret the collaborative works of Dave & Steve themselves, Gorge & Joeski, Guy Mantzur & Lonya, Cristoph & Quivver and Luke Brancaccio & Tim Healy - it’s a mightily impressive cast. 

A milestone release befitting of the occasion then. A toast to centurion status and to everyone who has shown love and support for the label thus far. Thing is, you can’t help thinking this journey has really only just begun.

No Silence: In this track Mollono.Bass fills the aural space around the voice of singer Kuoko as if his groove was a liquid that flows around the contours of a mould. The Super Flu remix works just the other way around. First, the duo initiates a pulsating force field of bass and enigmatic hints of melody. The voice of Kuoko creates only fine ripples on the surface of the time-space-continuum, before it breaks through around the middle. Stephan Zovsky's remix of Your Smile draws a wonderful contrast to this deeply hypnotic atmosphere. As a close friend of Mollono.Bass he has a deep understanding of the melodic soul of the original, which enables him to translate this soul into his very own style in an extremely elegant way. Parisian artist Notre Dame starts off the Mo’Vibes collection with his vibrant love-charged ode

tense beat of ‘Lockdown,’ which Mexico’s Jömiêl captures candidly. At the tenth spot, Stix the
Artist lands us back right at home, or ‘Gau Lapeng’ in Southern Sotho, with a pulsating dance
that shrugs off a bit of the old, to vibe in the new. Just in time, Mo’Vibes sets the year off to a
good start.
