Set to build on Afterlife’s mesmerizing club concept that’s striking visual and musical identity has so far showcased at Off Sonar, ADE and Ibiza for a 13-week residency at Space, brand curator’s Tale Of Us have now added an extra dimension to its forward-thinking offering with a podcast series named ‘Afterlife Voyage’. 

Launching with a rare 2 hrs mix from Tale Of Us themselves, Afterlife Voyage 001 provides a unique insight into the duo’s ‘realm of consciousness’ and features a range of unreleased tracks and upcoming Afterlife releases. With names from the Afterlife record label also confirmed to contribute to this latest musical journey – their names yet to be revealed – the launch of the podcast series further emphasizes Tale Of Us’ growing dominance within the global club scene and reiterates Afterlife’s 360 degree exploration of music and the arts. 

Venturing to London this Friday 11th and Saturday 12th November for its UK debut, Afterlife will then head to in Miami for Art Basel on Saturday 3rd December for an engaging takeover that sees Marcel Dettmann and Recondite join proceedings.

With episode one from brand curators Tale Of Us encapsulating their hugely successful Afterlife events and record label, the second offering in the exploratory concept’s mix series sees Vaal embark on an intrepid ‘Voyage’ of her own - which is now available to listen via Soundcloud.  

Having already appeared on the Afterlife imprint for a soulful and lamenting three-track EP named ‘Wander to Hell’ last October, Vaal’s offering for Voyage 002 keeps with the possessive spirit of Afterlife and traverses techno where others retreat. In this fittingly free-feeling 100-minute mix, Vaal conjures up the emotions that saturate her minimal style; “equally human, equally electronic”, resulting in an experience that’s always arresting and deeply affecting.

A regular guest of Afterlife as it tours - recent dates include a UK debut and showcases in Miami for Art Basel as well as Mexico - Vaal earmarks herself as a rising talent in 2017 and one that is not scared to experiment.

The third episode in Afterlife's Voyage podcast series comes from the label's latest signing, Patrice Bäumel. Ahead of the release of 'Glutes'/'Engage' (http://bit.ly/AL004Glutes) on May 12, Patrice ushers in the Summer with a tour through carefully-selected, feel-good records. Subtle, driving and uplifting in equal parts, this Voyage is mixed with the elegance and expertise of someone with over two decades experience behind the decks.

As displayed by his 2016, Kompakt track 'Surge' (a hit in the sets of Tale Of Us), remixes of Depeche Mode or Cubiculor and the upcoming AL004, Patrice is a master of transmitting energy and emotion through his synth lines, arrangements and perfectly-timed vocal sections. He is equally adept as a DJ and this Voyage is a stellar example. Over the 1h45m run time, you're guaranteed to be moved in body and mind. A soundtrack for the summer.

Ukrainian duo Woo York are behind the fifth Afterlife voyage, delivering a special and rare live recording that captures the energy of their acclaimed, hardware-heavy performances. They take you on a journey through the Woo York universe, where hypnotic synths, driving basslines, acid moments and ethereal melody transport you to another dimension. Not only this voyage, but their contributions to the two Realm Of Consciousness compilations and mesmerising live sets at Afterlife events, show how moving their sound can be. Mind Against, the duo of Alex and Federico Fognini, provide a special, extended podcast for the Afterlife Voyage series’ sixth instalment. Opening with the crisp, melodic grooves of Kettenkarussell and Levon Vincent, they seamlessly progress from slick and lean house cuts towards their trademark, celestial techno sound, occasionally offering flashes of their peak-time power through bursts of white noise or mesmerising crescendos. The flawlessly coherent selections and subtle transitions find Mind Against at the very top of their game. Denis Horvat's star is rising. The young, Danish producer has maintained an exceptionally high-quality on all his releases since debuting in 2011, bringing him to the attention of Tale Of Us and Afterlife. Following three memorable sets at Afterlife Ibiza this September, we're pleased to welcome Denis to the Voyage series. His podcast consists of rolling, techy house with unusual melodies and occasional left turns. A trip through the kind of sounds you can expect when he joins Afterlife Recordings with the 'Modelo' EP in 2018.

Fideles follow up their 'Impressum' EP on Afterlife with a stunning contribution to the Voyage podcast series. Since they began DJing in the late 90s, they have favoured a deep and melodic sound; back then Moby or Massive Attack, today their own productions and those of peers on labels like Afterlife. Their Voyage podcast is a fine example of the Fideles sound, a journey that ranges from high-impact techno to dreamy synth tracks, including unreleased material and their latest single 'Cerchio'. Agents Of Time shine on the eleventh Afterlife Voyage podcast, with a DJ set covering a wide spectrum of house and techno over the ninety minute run time. There are broken beat, atmospheric cuts, pulsing basslines and more epic passages, all mixed with keen ear for subtle, harmonic transitions. Though the trio are perhaps better known for their breathtaking, improvisational live act, this podcast is further proof of their ability to translate the same vision into a DJ set.
