The inimitable, Detroit-born, UK based producer and DJ, Demi Riquísimo returns to his unbounded Semi Delicious imprint with a 4-track EP with feature vocals from one of London’s most in-demand DJs - Lulah Francs.

Delivering another delectable spread of speaker rumbling house music in a variety of dancefloor flavours, Demi sets off with title track ‘Rush Common’. A steady rolling kick, with his signature live-feel hi-hats are joined by a rumbling 909 groove and massive synth chords and a wandering acid-lead. Simple, effective, fearless house music.

‘Paroche’ brings the authentic Italo-influenced flavours that Demi has become renowned for. Sampled female vocal chants dissect a metric, live drum groove with lush pads and an oozing, wandering arp synth running through the centre. – Demi also includes a huuuuge, Extended Balearic Mix for the bubbling Ibiza terraces throughout the summer.

‘Circulate’ showcases fellow Londoner Lulah Francs vocal leads, across a gnarly FM synth lead and sassy Roland drum groove. Lulah’s enchanting vocals give this one an extra edge to captivate any dancefloor it meets.

‘Don’t Feed The Tiger’ combines Indo-influences with modal vocals and an eastern instrumentation to bask in under the midday sun. A slower tempo from a live-drum groove offers space to move between shaded trees, barefoot in the Balearic sands.

Gudu Records label continues a 2023 for the books with Dream Universe, a new four-track EP by Italian duo Hiver.

Based in Milan, Giuseppe Albrizio and Sergio Caio have spent the last decade honing a very special take on electro and machine funk, driven by the duo’s trademark basslines, glossy strings that drip with emotion and an overall utopian nature.

On Dream Universe, a “tribute to early ‘90s house and trance”, built around trance elements, acid bass and Detroit-inspired rhythms made on iconic synthesizers like the Alpha Juno, Juno 106 and the Roland 303, 909 and D-550, they pack more energy and emotion into their music than ever before, from the high-emotional vocal that defines the EP’s title track, to the raw bass hits that drive ‘Lodash’.

At this point, Hiver’s sound is so distinctive that you know one of their tracks the minute you hear it, but Dream Universe feels like the high water mark of their work to date; a duo in complete control of their craft.

Plaform 23 is delighted to release a compilation across 4 EPs of the music of Dutch producer Robbert Heijnen (Psychick Warriors Of Gaia / SUMUS) and his Exquisite Corpse project. First appearing as a one off contribution to a Katharos Foundation compilation cassette in 1986, Exquisite Corpse was resurrected in 1992 as Robbert left PWOG to concentrate on solo music. 

The first home studio sketches were developed as music to be incorporated in PWOG, the music was often having a more melodic and harmonic content.
With limited audio gear, much was created using tape loops and completed in parallel with mixing desk master, engineer and friend, Tim Freeman, as well as with contributions from partner Debbie Jones (The Mistress/DJ Venus).  Released on Dutch label KK Records, the tracks included in these 12”s are taken from a furtive two year period that saw six EPs and three LPs released.  

Starting with Inner Rhythm (Higher World Mix), taken from 1993’s Inner Rhythm EP, Between Rhythms I starts with intent.  Crisp percussion, relentless and interwoven sequences abound over a dark bassline, before the dub meet world sounds of Kupuri show the depth of EC’s outlook.  

This is backed by the rawness of X-Out from 1992’s Strange Attractor EP.   Recorded to cassette before Tim joined the project, the guttural bass and sharp percussion cross boundaries between house and techno.   This deep tribal sound, full of pulsing drums hightlights a sharper angle from much of EC’s output and as such, is a pure club machine.  

The first EP closes with Sitting In A Tree (Time Flies).  The first track to be taken from their debut album, Dream Night Dance Music, the album is rightly considered their strongest, more rounded record, seeing it now trading at spiralled prices.  With all 6 of it’s songs to be covered across the 12” series, the ambient influences and yearning keys here make for a perfect, first ending.

The 4th and final EP of music from Exquisite Corpse brings to a close this series of rebirth and definition. Together, Robbert Heynen, Debbie Jones and Tim Freeman released in just 2 years a stream of sacred, serotonin beats and hypnotic tribal rhythms that shape shifted dance floors.  

Returning to the source, the debut Reassembling Reaility EP, with Hollywood.  A confluence of steppa rim, spoken mystics, found sounds, synth-strings and rolling basslines. Join us. 

Leading to Strange Attractor from the prized Dream Night Dance album, familiarity and progression. Euphoric onrush, bottom end pulsing, sentimental strings, serene keys, pitch shift, a master class of less becoming more.  Aural injection.  

Calling The Quarters off 1993’s Inner Light album starts the final side in bestowing beauty; above so below, in front, behind, around.  Raw, natural, fluctuating, moody, obscure.  The mystery.  

The release and series completes with Etoiles.  Again (aptly) drawn from 1992’s Dream Night Dance Music, the hallmarks’ of this underrated project are there. Detroit bass, lazy hats, counter claps, harmonies for modern times.  

Tribal. Ambient. Techno.  The terms do not justify the music included.  As it should be.  Primal, sanctified, conscious, living.  The journey ending.
