AFT Records invites you to download an exclusive copy of their upcoming release by Tuskan.

It’s been a little over a year since we first signed Tuskan to AFT & he’s been garnering huge attention and support ever since for his productions and technical DJ sets. His first release ‘The Bricks’ EP, set the tone and then he levelled up with his monster single, Sitting Ducks (featuring Press1) and most recently his contributions to the Texas ‘Dedicated EP’ with the title track saw him gain BBC Radio 1 support from Rene LaVice.

Were very proud to announce his latest instalment, ‘Foul Play’, is set for release on 12th April.

We already unleashed the single ‘As We Enter’ which is gaining support across the scene with its stripped back, prototype infused approach focusing on pummelling speaker boxes. This tune has big attitude but keeps it’s rolling edge - impossible not to vibe to.

‘I suspect Foul Play!’ The extremely apt title track makes you feel like a detective in a haunted house hunting for clues with no idea what is around the corner. Have a listen and see if you agree with me.

Well placed samples and atmospheric edits set the mood, dark but fun, just how Tuskan likes it.

The third piece of the puzzle has some of the bounciest drums you’ll hear for a long time, coupled with delicate jazz samples & dangerously rude bass edits from Tuskans’ brick dungeon. What are you waiting for? Just ‘Send It’

Lastly, ‘Beast Reign’ finishes off this huge EP with a dark stepper which wouldn’t sound amiss at an old Renegade Hardware event. The beast keeps twisting and turning with variation after variation of bass edits that sound so fresh. Laced with intriguing samples, this one is ice cold!

Our Chicago based squad member is back with a bang following the huge success of his debut EP ‘Chemicals’ which dropped in February of this year & he continues to step up his levels with 4 absolute bullets aimed firmly at the dance floor.

We start the journey with Tugboat, which is an apt title as it is just so heavy and can carve its way through the mightiest of waves. With signature breaks & moody, stepping atmospherics coupled with ground shaking bass this is guaranteed to tug the ravers to the frontline.

Threadbare displays the other side to LO!’s skill-set, with an incredibly vibey stepper & a such a unique drop which makes it impossible not to bounce around to. Accompanied with some retro, 80’s style synths this is one for your playlist without a doubt! Truly original.

The title track ‘Turmoil’ is an absolute scorcher, with chopping breaks & dread-esque bass tones that wind & filter throughout the arrangement, mixed in with some ridiculous switch-up edits that bring so much energy it’s unreal. Already seeing a huge amount of support especially stateside, this one is not to be missed.

Dead End showcases yet more diversity to his production, with a downtempo flavour again with sublime pads, drum edits & perfectly placed atmospherics throughout. Chilled but powerful & always a step ahead of the game.

The original track was first showcased to the world recently by Fred V and Grafix on their mix for Annie Nightingale on BBC radio 
one and is supported by three superb and versatile remixes. The multitalented Siege, whose MC work has graced Get Me, We 
Want & Med School, teams up with Alex Barton, with the tune getting the remix treatment from KJah & Vytol, Dead Belly and 
Ollie 303, all of whom add extra layers to the composition. The whole package sets the label apart as one to watch. 
 
The original is a lush soundscape of strings, deep synths and Jesse Bowden’s wondrous vocals. The intro sets the tone, before a 
skittering, light beat drops into view. Thoughtful and considered, this one is not your every day, run-of-the-mill d&b, but is 
musical, emotional and thought-provoking. KJah and Vytol add depth and strength to the track, tightening up the beats and 
cutting up the vox to take the tune to street level. There’s an amazing bassline in the mix, which’ll draw club attention to the 
version, and enough old skool breakbeats to satisfy even the most ardent raver. Still with the original’s clarity, this one’s 
rougher and tougher.

Dead Belly’s take on the tune casts it in a different light, one just for the 2-step crew. They smash it with a wicked colliding beat 
and a trailer load of bass, but once again, this is different, a level above the competition. The best tunes draw the best remixes, 
and they don’t come much better than this. A perfect fit for a very special track. The final piece in the puzzle comes courtesy of 
Ollie 303, whose remix drifts into the realms of fantasy, blurring the lines between worlds with a deep, echoing take, 
descending deep into the underground, with elements of dubstep, house, garage, and dark, marauding bass music. 
Harrowing, threatening, but somehow still very, very rewarding. 
 
Overall, one of the best packages of tunes you’ll hear in a long, long time. AFT003 is beyond essential.

Siege & Alex Barton - The Frame (London Elektricity Hospital podcast rip) Feat Jesse Bowden

Hypotic, uplifting and full of vibes, the super talented In:Most have remixed Blacksmith, Sydney Bryce & Jackie Maura on Stand By.

The original Stand By is a sun drenched boom bap cut that has been doing numbers over at our sister hip-hop label AFT Raps all summer. A collaboration between the super skilled Bristol MC Blacksmith & the instantly recognisable Sydney Bryce over Jacky Maura production was crying out for a D&B remix so we called on In:Most to deliver something special for the deeper end of the spectrum.

Already picked up by and supported by London Elektricity, the remix slaps in the nicest way possible. Warm pads caramelise with Sydney’s vocals and Blacksmith delivers thoughtful proses over the surging, atmospheric backdrop.

You should already know Sydney Bryce, her amazing vocals have seen her appear on drum and bass productions by Simula, Bou, QZB to name a few heavy hitters and she is working hard behind the scenes setting herself up to be one of the shining lights of 2024

Remixers IN:Most have established themselves as 2 of the best liquid producers in the game with critical acclaim for their debut album Voyager on Soulvent records. Big collabs with Logistics, Degs, Hugh Hardie and solo releases on Hospital and Shogun Audio has seen their trademark sound expand and they have encapsulated that in this soulful twist on the original.

The Bristol based producer had been gaining some serious attention from some major labels and has releases lined up on Viper but has committed his future to AFT for the foreseeable future and boy does he announce himself!

The Fast Approach E.P attacks the listener rapidly with ‘Bring It’  with the unworldly build up, drums and synths rotating and snarling into a tidal wave of a roll out track sure to pull the dancefloor in each direction as it roller coasts into a stunning climax.

Fast Approach again has a stunning cinematic build up but its the groove on the drop and weight of the sub on this that will really grab you. Dancefloor destruction.

For ‘I Feel’ Octo Pi takes you in a different direction featuring the amazingly talented Leah Costello on vocals. Showcasing his diverse production talents ' I Feel' is a glorious, uplifting vocal driven track that engages and  grabs the listener and holds them close for the journey

N3gus has carved himself an illustrious back catalogue with releases on Hospital, Drum and Bass Arena, & Spearhead, high profile remixes for Circus, Warner alongside output on his own labels Bounce and Power of 3. His track ‘Walk The Walk’ with regular collaborator MC Jakes was selected as Puma’s official track for their Worldwide advert campaign during the 2016 FIFA European Championships and gained ‘Jam Hot’ status on Mistajam’s BBC Radio 1 show.

At only 20 years of age, recently qualified BA in Sound design for video games and applications, Platinum has built up a healthy reputation as one of the most technically gifted DJs in Bristol, so much-so that Carasel bought him in as his live tour DJ which touched down at various festivals this summer including Boomtown, Secret Garden party and Love Saves the Day. His 4 deck mixes have become infamous in the clubs and as a tastemaker on Bristol’s Ujima 98fm.
The duo joined forces on AFT Record’s Amsterdam E.P and their track ‘Truffle Shuffle’ was a clear stand out, the chemistry worked and the pair have been locked in the studio ever since.

The first single from the pair ‘Two’s Up/Rotter’ shows the partnerships strong potential and versatility. Released on 8TH Jan, it has already achieved positive press in Mixmag and has been boosted by a Bristol Launch party and debut show at Motion superclub.

‘Two’s Up’ Rolls out in true Bristol fashion like a nod to Roni Size’s Western bought bang up to date for 2018.
Rotter gives a more aggressive emphatic side. Almost cinematic in style and crushing in execution.

Move represents the coming together of experience and youth, technical ability and turntable wizardry, a huge talented Tattooed bearded man with a wealth of musical history and one of the sharpest turntablists in the scene with a BA in sound design and soon to be Master.

With their debut E.P confirmed for AFT early 2018 as well as lots more new music, the future is exciting, MOVE with it or get rolled over!

AFT Records released their bumper Sunrise selections album to coincide with festival season and since then all has been quiet on the release front. Rest assured the Bristol collective have been active, taking over stages at Glastonbury and countless festivals, celebrating their 30th Bristol show and plotting and planning a steady release schedule to take us up to Christmas!
 
Kicking things of is the Family Tree's latest signing Tuskan. The Bricks E.P hits you brick by brick, slab by slab with production as tough as concrete. The title track punches and swings with supreme force plus who does'nt love a quick Method Man sample before the drop?

'Primitive Jungle' has a crunching intro that then rolls back the years into its sweeping core, ready to shake the best sound systems in the country whilst 'The Deal' takes us back to some rolling virus vibes that showcase Tuskan's diversity on the boards. 

Finally 'Lazer Burn' wraps up The Bricks E.P in ferocious style, Taser striking the listener into submission.

Since his debut album ‘King Of Camoflauge’ which gained Octo big support, countless DJ bookings and licenses to D&BA compilations, he has not slowed his roll, contributions to the Amsterdam & Next Wave 3 compilations plus releases on Viper and Gyro has seen him constantly putting out high quality music for his ever expanding fan base.

His latest e.p kicks off in thunderous fashion teaming up UK Rap legend DR Syntax for the full vocal smasher and title track ‘It’s Like That’

The Ambush Family Tree’s resident bricklayer Tuskan is back to deal out more damage & break more health and safety codes with a straight out of lockdown, left handed uppercut to the ear lobes. 

Tuskan has been grafting hard since his AFT debut ‘The Bricks’ landed and for this single he has teamed up with one of the UKs most ferocious and fire tounged battle rappers ‘Press1’ 

Press was recently crowned UK champion at the notorious ‘Don’t Flop’ battle tournament then ripped of the title in highly controversial circumstances (check the battle for pure entertainment) this has left our boy angrier than ever as line by line he verbally dissects MCs or ‘Sitting Ducks’ that stand idle and don’t grind on his level. While Press gets ‘More wheel ups than a cycle path’ Tuskan throws down a thunderous stepper in the background, think Dillinja ‘Silver Blade’ era. 

The track is powerful and uncompromising and Press1’s angry yet calm demeanour gel perfectly together on another AFT full vocal classic.
