For NYE2023 I made a DJ Mix of some of the songs I had listened to over the year. Making this mix was fun and a great way to celebrate the new year! None of my released music is in it but if you keep a close ear one of my unreleased songs made its way into it.

Know That was a song that really came out of no where. I was in a 12 hour car ride back home from a trip and for some reason decided to open my laptop up at 5 A.M, right as we hit the road. What came about in the next hour was the melody which quickly turned into the whole song. Structure and sound wise, it was completed within 6 hours. I continuously was looking at what to fix and what to add and was on splice one day and found the lyrics on there one day. I put them in the drop and loved how it sounded. I continued to work on it tweaking things for about a month. I added a small note into the second drop melody and make the vocals and had to change out the kick multiple times to get it where it is today. About a week more of mastering and changing small details I finally was happy with it. When I was working on this song, this was really the first time I experimented with a quick stop at the peak of the build. I decided to add the "popping" sound to see what it would sound like and it sounded so natural. It gave it a vibe of this huge build up into a drop that explodes everywhere with how the synths sound. In this collection, Know That has the Radio Edit, Vocal Extended Mix, Instrumental, and Extended Instrumental Mix all packed into it. This release is also live in all other major distributors.

Sunset starts off with a prominent chord progression in the beginning. This brings a somewhat relaxed mood as the melody is filtered in behind it. The build starts when the chords disappear and it's just the melody. This builds into an amazingly relaxing drop. Everything in the drop works well with each other. It's a great uptempo but downtempo song. The bridge emulates the energy brought with the drop but without the melody. The melody again is filtered in which makes the song feel special. Another build and drop comes with that same great euphoric feeling. The last drop is emphasized by a more. Intense build. This song is a nice and relaxing song.

Sunset came about during my school’s winter break. I had already been working on music the whole day and decided to do one more idea before I went to bed. Sunset was that one idea and I ended up working well into the morning and for the next few weeks to make it perfect. The relaxing and calming feel it has is something special. The melody and chords work amazing with each other while the bass moves the song along. Its a great song to listen to during a sunset or anywhere someone finds relaxing.
