Save Your Atoll - Bioma EP [Preview] | FS002

@samsqnofficial is an Amsterdam based artist who started DJing in 2014. Since then played in a wide range of clubs, like: Chicago Social Club, Club NL, VLLA, Wester Unie, JACK, Panama and De Kraan.

After DJing for a year he soon discovered the art of producing. This gave him the opportunity to express himself as an artist and further develop his taste for music. Today, SAMSQN’s sound is mainly based on transforming his emotions into story driven techno filled with atmospheric textures. As an artist his goal can be summarized into the following sentence: 

Hypnotizing mankind with all the frequencies a human can possibly perceive.

This vision led to his first release on Brighton based music label named Øbskure on the 31th of Juli in 2019. After this milestone SAMSQN is eager to release new music. In 2020 he released on other forward thinking labels as: Worthless, Aesir and B55 Records.

SAMSQN has the honor to release on recordlabels N F E R E E and Lowless in 2021. Consisting of wide range of atmospheric tracks ranging from ambient to driving techno.

And yet another Berlins sloping upward talent joins Hapësira podocast series, @cecilia_berlin who's mom of the collective SEV Berlin, provides (in collaboration with different established artists and manager from the scene) practical and theoretical knowledge to facilitate independence in club culture. It not only supports newcomers in various formats (events, workshops, talks), but also promotes exchange among the players in club culture.

She has been DJing internationally for four years now and since then every year her BPM strangely increases by an average of 4 BPM.

She started with Deep House and Dub Techno, today she mainly plays Minimal, Dub and mainly Techno. Her debut EP „Run With The Wolves“ came out in the beginning of this year on her freshly baked record label SEV Records.

The last and so far biggest project she started in collaboration with other collectives is the new open air space CURA Berlin. There she takes over the booking and other duties.

Some dancefloors she played: Wilde Renate, Garbicz Festival, Golden Gate, Douala, Sputnik/Tel Aviv, Pergamon/Jerusalem, Crie de la Mouette/Toulouse, HÖR Berlin.

1981 an eleven year old kid gets a gift, that is the New Life 7 inch by Depeche Mode, from that very moment the cold beats of drum machines and the alien sounds of synthesizers are the soundtrack of his life, until today.

Living the eighties as a teenager, he absorbs every futuristic and dark sound as a fan, new wave, goth, proto EBM, classics like Kraftwerk or Tangerine Dream ...

1987 marks the switch from being pasive to being active, he gets his first synth and drum machine combo as a christmas gift from their parents, a second hand Kawai Sx 240 keyboard and a Korg kpr 77 drum machine, and starts making his own noises and beats from scratch. Soon he forms his first music project, called Ballet Mecánico, with his two fellows Groof and Daniel Erbe.

Heavily synth pop influenced in the beginning, their sound soon moves to darker territories after discovering Front 242 and Nitzer Ebb and later moving into proto rave sounds via the Frequencies album by LFO or the Yellow album by Orbital, as well as those lovely Detroit compilations released in the UK by Network records: Bio Rhythm and Retro techno amomg others. This project last until the mid nineties and left two vinyl releases.

1995 is when his solo career as Hd Substance starts, releasing a track on the Electronic Generators compilation, a showcase of spanish techno pioneers at the moment, on Geometrik records, home of the seminal industrial cult band Esplendor Geométrico a stepping stone to his debut album Eleven on the also cult label Elefant Records.

After more than 20 years in the bussines, more than 30 Ep’s and six full lenght albums, Hd Substance is still here as a full actor in the scene, writing, composing, remixing and playing electronic beats all over the globe, as live performer or as traditional beatmatching dj. An entire life devoted to electronic music in any form.

For our final show of 2021, @codeword-london hosts Biri, one of Tel Aviv’s finest electronic-music exports. @biri1990's signature blend of trippy, hypnotic and deep techno releases have been snapped up by leading labels including Len Faki’s @figure.official, Inland’s @counterchange-inland , Derrick May’s @transmat,  and most recently with his latest EP, 'Untitled Drift' on Psyk’s @nonseries.

Biri’s musical and geographic journey from his hometown Jerusalem to Tel Aviv, via Berlin and now London, also includes a successful collaboration as artist duo Deep’a and Biri and founding the label Black Crow. As a solo artist in his own right, Biri is pushing the boundaries of deep techno and IDM and is on a trajectory that merits serious attention.
