South Street is a new record label shrouded in a bit of mystery. The crew behind it is staying in the shadows for now as their goal is to focus solely on the music that they're putting out. One thing is for certain though, everyone involved all have the credentials and experience as they've been on the ball for a while. Their inaugural release really was testament to this, which featured a brilliant EP from Californian Urulu; you know that these guys aren't messing about, basically.The second release on the new imprint is also surrounded by a little 'hush hush'. Yaki Incipient is a new alias from a prominent Dutch house and techno artist, but that's all we know for now. The "Cracked" EP features on the A side a title track which works those dusty and funked up disco loops in the same vein as a certain original house gangster did back in the day. On the flip, the dirty disco cut ups continue with the rolling and hypntoic funk of "Evil Vibe".

“Holdback”, an unexpected twist of events for followers of Redscale, is actually a bold step forward in terms of pace and light. The enticing chords work like a magnet, and the potential of the lady on the mic is no lower than that one of a siren. The personal weapons of grad_u, the most powerful of which are the embracing loops, are of course out there, indicating the producer’s inner spirit and roots. 

Picking up where “Holdback” left off, “Outwards from Laniakea” is a statement more rugged, yet as absolute as the message on side A. It’s an invitation to put that jacket back to the cloakroom, switch off that phone and let yourself go, again and again. It’s, once again, a compelling statement against conformity.

​Matrixxman delivers the third release on Henning Baer's @manhighrecordings with his ‘Deep Mind’ EP, featuring a relentlessly hypnotizing title track consisting of a dark dancefloor-focused motif.

Berlin based by way of San Francisco, Matrixxman’s career has been steadily picking up steam over the past five years. He’s cemented his place as one of the leading figures in the global techno circuit due to quality releases on Dekmantel and Ghostly International, with his standout album ‘Homesick’ arriving on the latter imprint in 2015.

With ‘Deep Mind’ Matrixxman lets his raw and driving essence shine through, as the track builds with metallic textures, enveloping atmospherics and pumping rhythm. This is heads-down techno for long nights and early mornings caught in the dance, a distinct essence which Matrixxman has become known for.

Matrixxman’s ‘Deep Mind’ EP, which also includes two more originals and a remix from veteran German producer Gonar, is set for release May 15.

Premiere: Matrixxman 'Deep Mind'

After a great reception to his two tracks on the first Prospekt EP, Gary Burrows has graduated to his debut solo release, with the rave-referencing “All Your Dreams”. Combining a classic oldskool vocal and stab combo with a no-nonsense 130bpm backing, this track has it all. 
Yan Oxygen winds things back a notch on his remix, juggling the stab pattern and hyping up the melodic aspects.
To complete the release, Gary takes things darker on “Koda”. With pummelling, overdriven drums and eerie spoken vocals, this is one for the harder floors!
