On this special day, I would like to start by sharing a highlight from 2022; the ambient set that I played at Soundscapes in Zanzibar last July. This set combines many pieces of music that I have been collecting over the years that have moved me. This is part of who I am and how I play with sound.

I spent my first Burn in 2017 with 1001 Nights. The unconditional love, inclusion and bubbly energy I felt that year made it clear that I would return to this beautiful family; a family of lovers and dreamers.

And so I returned to 1001 Nights this year. Every day was an absolute joy; we spent hours each day in our dome, our home, that was draped in colourful fabrics and adorned with gold stars falling from the sky, filled with cheerful chatter and storytelling through our projects.

I had the honour and pleasure of sharing a musical journey after my dear friend Kora. My set time was post-sunset. The stars in the dome lit the sky. Family gathered in and other lovely souls joined us to fill our dome with beautiful energy.

I'm grateful for every single person that played part of this beautiful journey and experience. This set is dedicated to all that made this happen. I thank you!

Agha @ 1001 Nights | Burning man 2019

Each one of us has our own story and will retell it in our own unique way. This is my story. A story that is told through a live performance that audibly and visually reflects my past and journey to the present. 

A story that started in the Arabian desert with a sweeping French influence echoing culture chaos yet calmed by morning melodies that reminisce childhood memories; swaying in nature in its rawest forms; speeches evoking inner consciousness and intermittent grooves. These are all elements of my adventure that represent my true expression.
 
When working on this project, the key was to keep the sounds in their organic form to expose the warmth of my message. The sounds that were chosen for this live performance derive from live recordings and symbolize my roots to convey a special feeling to those listening and a visual guide of the journey.

During the lockdown, I have been reflecting on and reassessing the values in this world and trying to understanding the underlying message of the pandemic. I’ve realised that many people are rethinking the necessities of today's world but only a few are truly inspired to give back to humanity. 

This set is a journey that involves a thought process and free thinking to evaluate our current situation and consciousness. I hope this set inspires you to take action after this period of time and focus on the love and respect for our Mother Nature.
