One of the first experiments I did using the iPad 2. I think I probably wanted to expand this idea to incorporate into a much longer piece, but got bored or ran out of ideas. Perhaps it fits best as some kind of interlude sandwiched between other pieces of music. Sometimes it's not that fun recording on your own!

Marillion - Easter Guitar Solo

Part II as promised. Death Metal all the way! One of the very rare occasions where I tuned down to D. I stumbled upon the drum pattern on my Boss recorder and came up with appropriate complimentary musical accompaniment! I believe (I can't quite remember!) that the guitars are doubled tracked in octaves and I also added a bass this time to fill out the rest of the sound.
Anyway - it's just for a laugh.

This Present Darkness Part III

This is my first official outing with the Chapman Stick. It's kind of a cover of a Nick Beggs (Iona, Steven Wilson, Steve Hackett, Kajagoogoo) solo Chapman Stick piece from his album 'The Maverick Helmsman'. I've only covered the main theme to see what it was like recording with a Stick. All the parts are played on a Chapman Stick using the two handed tapping technique, except for the thunder and rain, which was played by God and sampled by Garageband.
