AGILE088 - Uto Karem presents BEST OF 2017

Kamara&#8217;s EP starts off with &#8220;Enduro&#8221; which boasts one of the sleaziest bassline&#8217;s ever used.&nbsp; As the whole affair flirts with the acidic side of things, crushed electronics and persistent micro-riffs paint a discordant picture which constantly evolves.&nbsp; 
&#8220;Fortuna&#8221; is completely different, shifting the focus on infectious stabs which are fuelled by a straightforward rhythm section, while a synth-heavy breakdown keeps things ultra-exciting.

Felix Kröcher teams up with Landmark and the boys unleash two different version of &#8220;Windmakers&#8221;.&nbsp; 
Felix&#8217;s version focuses on the eerie synths, letting the pulsating bass hold the affair together as persistent chords and grandiose effects come at the unsuspecting listener from all angles.&nbsp; 
Landmark&#8217;s version takes a different approach, using manic arpeggios to fuel the fire and prepare the ground for an ever-evolving synth riff.

Felix Krocher & Landmark - Windmakers (Felix Krocher Version)

Mastiv makes his Agile debut by demonstrating his effortless style and impeccable skills in all three of the cuts.&nbsp; The title track is up first and sets the tone perfectly with a sleazy bassline, commanding stabs and soaring synths.&nbsp; &#8220;Dr. Dachno&#8221; picks up in the same vein, led by the driving bass, while electronics are graciously sprinkled on top of the crystal-clear production.&nbsp; Closing up with &#8220;Schmutz&#8221;, we are introduced to a discordant vibe as warped synthesis takes center stage and otherworldly effects propel the affair to the next level.

Mastiv - Elastisch (Original Mix)

Dark Love - Popping with drums over a rising tide of beautiful vocals reminiscent of Moby, this track blends all kinds of influences to bring a sound as fascinating as it is danceable. Old school tech house beats lay the groundwork to get bodies moving while bringing in trance effects to send this song skyward, making for a crowd-pleasing groove that has something for everyone.

AGILE076 - Landmark - Dark Love (Original Mix)

Common Ject - Keeping the tempo high on classic drums and synths, this track doesn’t waste any time before climbing into stellar ethereal terrain, in effect mixing things up while still keeping the song grounded at the same time. Italian producer Uto Karem is one of the world’s Techno elite. He has released EP’s on labels including Richie Hawtin’s Plus 8 Records, Christian Smith’s Tronic and Dubfire’s SCI+TEC, but most of his original music has been released via his own Agile Recordings.

Uto’s releases on Agile regularly have a great reception, often hitting the Top 10 Beatport Charts, and on many an occasion, also arriving at the coveted No. 1 spot. His avid following means Uto’s vinyl releases on Agile are also popular, with stock quick to sell out in most record stores.

Announcing his debut album in 2014, the last few years of Uto’s life have been a juggling act, balancing a busy touring schedule with label management and studio time.

Deciding to write an album came after years of releasing singles, remixes and EP’s, which although always true to Uto’s sound, at times took outside influence from hype and music trends of the moment.

The album is without restraint or outside influence, a project that takes exclusively from Uto’s core and the timeless music he has always held close to his heart.

Returning back to his early inspiration of bands like New Order, Depeche Mode and Soft Cell, he rediscovered the melodic synth lines that first drew him to discover Techno.

Going back to his roots, Uto spent hours working on synth lead melodies that although intricate, were also rhythmical and infectiously memorable. This often meant spending days, weeks and sometimes even months working on a single synth sound, which he would then build the rest of the track around. 

The final output blends deep atmospherics with melodic notation, pulsating basslines and stripped back percussion.

Techno focused, the album's energy makes it suited for a club environment, but to fully understand the intelligent use of melody and texture, requires headphones and home listening.

Boltzmann and Agile Recordings have come together to release the new full-length album “My Way,” boasting 12 brand new tracks that testify to an expansive talent that is only continuing to thrive and grow in today’s electronic music scene. Drawing from a diverse pool of influences ranging from Cirez D. to Depeche Mode, Boltzmann has helped to lead a generation of Slovenian artists by way of his classical music training and love of EDM culture. After earning a solid base with training as a classically educated musician, Boltzmann dove into channeling his passion into his surroundings with those who shared his love of making music. He organized his first electronic music event in 2002 before starting SDJF with ten fellow fans, an association working to promote and distribute EDM. Club nights at Maximal at the K4 club marked his divergence from popular minimal trends, launching his own brand of electro and techno spun through futuristic overtones. More than a decade later, Boltzmann’s new work shares this passion beautifully, which, in the artist’s own words, capitalize on “re-embracing my initial love for electro” with something “different from all my previous productions.” The single “Thor” brings this uniqueness to the forefront, harmonizing powerhouse soul to the techno game with all the maturity of a master. Similarly, “Sexo Maschine” fuses both techno and electro energy into one, sedutively-paced banger of a hit, never banking on cliches or losing focus throughout. Listeners can look forward to disco flavors appearing at some of the best twists on the album, marrying classic to true progression in a collection that never ceases to surprise and delight. As sole writer and producer on every song in the collection, Boltzmann says he could not realize his vision without the help of Studio2 and Tony DeClerque, “a great master,” Boltzmann said, “to whom I address my most grateful thanks.”
