Alex SoulBrigada and Dedy Dread, as true archeologists of music, recently dug out a gem of a 45 in one of the many vinyl stores of the Portuguese capital and meticuluosly sampled and chopped the tune into a soulful and sunny - just like Lisbon - hip hop tune. This is their first collaboration and in order to celebrate this, they are giving it away - FOR FREE! All MC´s, DJ´s and producers are invited to download the track and break it down which ever way they please - and please let Alex and Dedy see the end result!

When DJ, producer and songwriter Danny Massure moved home to San Diego, he teamed up with a new group of musicians. The result is "Busted". Four new tracks that are original compositions with live instrumentation and no samples. 

The EP starts off with the title track, "Busted", a banging afrobeat tune. 

"Knuckle Sandwich" lays low with an infectious 60s/70s latin swagger. 

On "No Saint" Danny called up his favorite singer and long time collaborator Miya Collins from Seattle. Miya's catchy lyrics and soulful vocals over Danny's funk produced a sassy funk anthem for the ladies who aren't tryin' to get played. 

"Fix It" rolls into the late night, chopping Miya's vocals over a house groove for DJs transitioning from funk and afrobeat into a jackin' house set. 

Diesler, one of Danny's favorite producers, flips "Busted" into a relentless afro-chugger that builds pressure with an acid bassline. 

Atlanta duo CaZ laces a pair of boogie shoes on "Busted" for a trip to afro-disco land finished off with analog synths, afro vocals and a stompy shuffle.  

Shantisan transforms "Knuckle Sandwich" into a bouncy afro-house track with a pounding beat, african vocals and instrumentation and a 70s flavor.  

Ed Royal takes us back to the glory days of house with a stompy beat and grooving bassline on his remix of "Fix It".  

Zamali brings the sexy to the funk on his uplifting disco-breaks remix of "Fix It".  

Trotter aims to destroy the dancefloor with his nufunk breakbeat twist on "No Saint" which is sure to be a hit with the midtempo breaks crowd.

Several years after his successful debut album „Keep It Raw,“ Dusty hits home with this ecelectic 4 track EP which represents a foretaste of his second album „Mood Matters“. The Jazz&Milk label founder consistantly straddles the line between tradition and modernity and proves that an album need not simply commit itself to a genre or two; and in the process ups the ante considerably by featuring a broad spectrum of musical styles, bringing together Dusty’s favourite leanings such as Jazz, Funk, Soul, Afrobeat, Latin, percussive Beats and Deep House rhythms, while seeking a natural balance between accoustic, electronic and traditional sounds through the prism of a club-music oriented approach. 

This fusion is brilliantly demonstrated on the title track „Mood Matters“ which meshes forward-driven house beats with organic instrumentation – a big Jazz banger for the dancefloor! „Danse Macabre“ features Dusty’s live band project „Bad Jazz Troupe“ taking you on a wild trip between massive horn sections, heavy beats and deep basslines. On the B-side you’ll find the strong Afro-Funk piece „Seventy Three“ with its sweeping horns, charming Afrobeat guitars and mighty drumbeats and let’s not forget the soulful beauty of „Longing Lingers“, featuring the heavenly voice of Carla Vallet ,as well as one of Munich’s most talented producers, Bartellow. 

Catch the video for the title track „Mood Matters“. Paper drum- and tape machines are brought to life through elaborately generated stop-motion sequences which can also be found on the cover artwork - handmade and directed by the artist himself.
